River Belle Fantasmic Upgrade to Premium Dining Package question...

Hi all,

I am a little confused by the wording on the Disneyland website on how to book the River Belle Fantasmic Upgrade to Premium Dining Package...

The website says "Upgrade to premium 8:00 PM seating for an additional $25 per adult and $15 per child (ages 3 to 9) and enjoy your meal as well as the first performance of Fantasmic! from your seat on the outdoor patio.
Reservations for the premium 8:00 PM seating can only be made at the restaurant or by calling (714) 781-DINE or (714) 781-3463 between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM daily. "

"Upgrade" seems to imply that I must have a regular Dining Package already booked. So do I have to book a regular Dining Package first, then call into ADR and give them my regular Dining Package reservation info and ask them to upgrade me? Or can I just call in and book the "upgrade package" all at once?

You can call and just state you want the upgraded 8pm seating reservation and they will book you

Thank you! That's what I figured...but the wording "upgrade" threw me off. Why they just don't call it 8pm Reserved Terrace/Patio Seating Package (or something to that effect) with the $70/$40 cost instead of "upgrade for an additional $25/$15" is beyond my understanding...

Marketing. If you tell someone something is $70, they might balk at the cost. However, if you say "for just $25 more", some people might be more inclined to buy the upgrade even though the total amount is the same.
