Ritz Carlton getting a new neighbor (kind of funny)

According to today's Orlando Sentinel, the Ritz Carlton at John Young and Central Florida Parkways will be getting a new neighbor--they're building a Wal-Mart kitty-corner across the intersection. This just seems like a metaphor for Orlando.

That will be great for all the guests at the Ritz that want to stock up on snacks for the room!

Doesn't it seem strange that two Wal-Marts should be located fairly close together? I mean, there's a WM Supercenter at John Young Parkway and Sand Lake Road.

I thought the same thing--which leads me to wonder if the existing one will be closing? The trend in central FL (and maybe the whole country for all I know) seems to be for Wal-Marts to move from shopping centers onto their own property (this happened in Orange City and DeLand, and was in the process of happening in New Smyrna Beach).

Wow! That sucks! No offense, but I love the Sand Lake Walmart and would not like to move it to JYP/CFP!
