He wasn’t a vigilante.

Pretty sure what he was doing was the text book definition of being a vigilante:

some people feel that when those in Power fail to do their job… like taking care of their homes, violence to business owners and businesses and a city literally being burned down ..it pushes people to take things into their own hands to protect it. So for them, Anything is justified as far as using weaponry as protection. And the Opposite perhaps is the mindset of Celebrating a Just Verdict.

The destruction of property was sad. The shooting and resulting loss of life was sad.

There were no winners in this circumstance, only losers. Anyone celebrating anything that occurred that night should have a long look the mirror.

The take away is that if someone is walking around with an AR-15, you don't attack them in WI.

Guys this is a post in the Just for Fun forum. This post was made to stir the pot. Please don’t make assumptions. A lot of you posting are not even in the U.S. and the full trial was not even made available to you to watch.

...and none more dangerous than himself obviously. The only people that died from all that danger were the people on the receiving end of his recklessness.

Sad but true. Even if they could be a mass murderer, just get out of their way and let them do their thing...

So you admit he was threatened.

He tried to act as pseudo law enforcement in a situation that didn't involve him and then resorted to shooting when it went south. Sounds like a vigilante to me.

I agree that based on the law, he was not guilty of the charges brought. There is a big gap between what is legal and morally right.

Some of the people on social media I've seen elevating him as some type of hero... I can't say how I feel about them.

Sure someone said they were going to kill him, but don't jump into a bullfight and blame the bulls. There's a big gap between defending ones self and killing a person in my opinion. If you need a gun to defend yourself then, well, there's a name for that....

Curious, what's the name for the people you need to protect yourself from?

As far as needing a gun to protect oneself, thankfully the Constitution gives us the right to do just that if we feel the need. So I guess the name for that is law abiding citizen
