i think Rapstar has done one of the karaoke singing at one of the places in City Walk.

It was fun. The only bad thing is that I thought they should have had more songs. But it had just opened when I went so I chalked it up to that and the fact that its a live band. I had a yummy melon flavored drink while there and my friend Chip had a "bomb" that he like. The potato onion webb was good, but a bit too salty. I wish I had gone more during my week there....I love to sing!

I don't know. Unless you can make a side trip to the Darkside b4 you switch hotels. Mon/Tues/Wed evening I have nothing planned. Thurs/Fri is HHN nights. Sat I have an event I'd told a friend I'd go to, but that doesn't start till 11:30ish I think. Sunday, HHN again. lol If I remember correctly, they do 3 sets, 10pm, 11 or 11:30, and then midnight. But that may have changed.

I have been and sung. It was great and terrifying.

It wasn't that busy when i first put my name up to sing and I was quite nervous as it was.
I think i must have waited nearly an hour to sing after putting my name up so with being nervous had by then consumed a large number of shots (including a recomendation from the server which was lovely) so was feeling pretty drunk by then.
Also by this time the place was packed!!! It is on 3 levels and all levels were busy.
To make things worse the 3 singers on before me were all fantastic. Anyway when my name was called i got the courage to go up and tried my best to sing "free fallin"
You can't really see the audience when you are on stage as there are a lot of lights shining on you, so I wasn't sure if they were clapping or laughing
Anyway I was glad i did it, it was great fun but if you are like me i would suggest a good few large drinks before doing it.

What time do you suggest getting there? This is for my husband. Slim pickin's on the song list I saw on the net, but I think he'd like to sing some Skynyrd.

I think it was about 8pm we got there and there was still plenty good seats then. It probably really filled up at about 9-9:30. This was a Friday night though and I guess the weekends will be busier than weekdays.

You can also get snacks at the tables too which was good to soak up some of the alcohol we consumed

It took a lot of beers, but I sang as well on my friend's birthday (she wouldn't do it alone). What's nice is that they subtly pull up the background singers' voices when you can't sing, making bad performances more tolerable. And the hosts all seem friendly and encouraging.

It does fill up fast on the weekends, but should be alright if you get there by 9-9:15.

I am glad I found this thread!! I love doing karaoke!! Did it 3 times on the DCL back in March. And seeing that they have Beyoncé on the list just might be enough for me to go there, Thanks!!

I went on a Monday and it was just regular Karaoke; no live band. But I had back-up singers, plus the host.

It was one of my best Bohemian Rhapsody performances...

Sundays and Mondays it is only with the back up singers and there are more selections as far as songs. The rest of the week it is with a live band and MC as well and that is why the song list is shorter. I love it.. I just cannot bring myself to sing.

Ah only A couple of liquid courage and I can sing like Limp Bizket,or so I think!!
I'm just not scared of crowds no matter how bad it sounds! or so I've been told I sound decent anyway!!!!
