Just rode it Friday. If you scroll down on the first page of MDE, it is an option to check for a boarding group. When you click on that it will tell you when the next time to try is. I noticed it didn't show on the MDE maps though when I filtered on Wait Times.

Yes. My guess is since it doesn't have an actual standby queue it doesn't show up on the Wait Times list. I've noticed this in the past too and this was my thought as to why it doesn't show up there.
I check the My Disney Experience app just to see what wait times are like during different times of the day. We are not there right now. Earlier today, and just now, when I look at HS there is nothing listed for ROTR ~ one time today it did show but it was "temporarily closed" so I'm just wondering why it wouldn't show the wait times. No big deal.

It never shows up on the “Wait Times” screen unless it’s down it’ll show as Temporarily closed. They do that so people who don’t know there’s a virtual queue don’t waste their time showing up expecting to wait in line. If you get a boarding pass…when you click on the virtual queue for the ride on the app it’ll show you an approximate wait time until your boarding group is called
ROTR doesn’t have posted wait times like all the other rides. Are you familiar with the virtual queue? There’s a thread where you can learn all about it
