Rise of the Resistance BOARDING GROUPS Superthread Part 2 *No Ride Spoilers Please* *PLEASE READ POSTS 1-3*

Does the Atomic clock app even matter? I have it open on my phone right now and it says the time on my phone is only 46ms behind. 46 thousandths of a second shouldn't make much difference.
I think the answer is that most people click at 6:59:59, which your phone doesn’t show on its own (depending on the phone). And who knows. Given the demand, maybe the milliseconds do matter, or maybe there are variations in the phone from time to time. Everyone needs to find their own way, but I think I’ll stick with the advice and use atomic clock.

If you have multiple phones/devices, is it worth layering the refresh pull down at different times. Mostly to avoid any lag from the Disney servers all getting a ping at the same time. Maybe staggering them would help one of those different times get through quicker?

For example....

Phone 1 - Refresh at 6:59:58am
Phone 2 - Refresh at 6:59:59am
Phone 3 - Refresh at 7:00:00am

Would that work better instead of all three going at 6:59:59am? Has anyone tried this with multiple phones/devices and is there a preferred method?

Also having someone not clicking saying the seconds would be even better.
A word of caution re this - pre-closure, I was there & some people were counting down out loud but were off, don’t know if on purpose or their clock wasn’t in sync with Disney. It resulted in lots of nearby folks being disappointed because they listened to the counters & were off on the timing.

As long as it’s your own group in your own space, should be fine, but yeah, that’d be terrible.

This morning while practicing, I got through getting a web slingers bg and almost had enough time for an RotR. Blue join was still there, but got red error message after clicking on select all for tickets.

Got it in practicing at the noon drop again, using the click over method. Can't do it at 7 a.m. yet, but noon is easier.

Well, I don't know if boarding group 38 will be good enough to make in onto ROTR today. The ride has been down most of the day. At one point we were able to get in line, but the ride broke down again after 5-10 minutes and it is still down. A little bit of a bummer, but not too much. Hoping a little pixie dust will come our way!

Where can you easily see milliseconds? My watch doesn’t do milliseconds and we’ll be at the park at 7 and 12 so I can’t have my laptop open to look

We have managed to get a ride group every single time we have tried. We just use the atomic clock. That's the biggest tip I can give you.

Was there wed & 12noon got BG (pull down refresh @ 11:59a mark) and it was group 200+ (i don’t remember the exact number). Wed our BG was successfully called..today (fri) however, we got BG 167 @ 12noon mark & they couldn’t get past BG 100 (by 6p we got a notification that they’re at capacity & cant accomodate our group). Talked to CM & there were issues today. Left DL disappointed but i did get to ride it once during our 3 day stay..12noon is def easier. The algorithm seems to be if u don’t get 7a, you’re more than likely to get 12noon but it all depends on how finicky the ride is.

My biggest problem with the Atomic CLock app is that you cannot have it open at the same time as the MDE app so how do you wait until 6:59:59 and switch to MDE to hit join, join, join? If you're not doing that then how does the Atomic clock app even help if you cannot see the time on the app?

I haven’t yet been successful practicing on the 7 am drop. Tried every which way. This morning I had atomic clock on DH’s phone, pull down to refresh on my own. Spun just a bit too long. 😭

Right, it’s a problem. If someone else in your party can have their phone open next to yours so you can see it, and count down, that might help. When I’ve practiced alone, I have the atomic clock open and I’m counting down to get the rhythm, then switch over to the DL app with 10 seconds to go. It’s messed me up a bit.

Woo got BG 85 at 7am. Yay. Success at 7am yesterday for WS (BG 23) and and success at 7am today for Rise. Can’t ask for anything more.
Can anyone tell me in as spoiler free way as possible… my husband and I have never done RotR before… we are traveling together with our 6 month old baby so we will have to do rider switch making us each essentially single riders. Will the covid restrictions make it weird or awkward on this ride as a part of 1? I guess what I’m asking is how much do they split different parties for distancing… I don’t really want to have one on one interactions during this experience. This didn’t occur to me until this morning, but I’m scared I might not actually want to experience this attraction alone alone. Im fine doing single rider on most things in general, and yesterday on GotG having an entire half of the vehicle to myself was neat, but what would the experience be like on RotR?
