Rise of the Resistance BOARDING GROUPS Superthread Part 2 *No Ride Spoilers Please* *PLEASE READ POSTS 1-3*

Typically, if the meal reservation isn't an event of some sort, then you honor the boarding group and they are flexible on the dining reservation. In the case that the dining thing is not flexible with regard to time, then typically they will be flexible with your boarding group. Since the Cinderella Tea is at a specific time, they'd likely tell you to just come back after. For the other dining res, they'll probably tell you to do ROTR and then go to the dining venue.

Bottom line, if it is looking like your boarding group is going to conflict with something, talk to a CM either at ROTR or your dining venue and they'll help you work it out.
Awesome, thanks. I wish I could text the Ride or Dining venue and let them know, instead of hiking from one end to the other...

For a regular restaurant, you’d prioritize the BG and then ask to alter the reservation. For the Cinderella Tea, you’d prioritize that and then they can take your BG later.

Thank you. I'll keep a screenshot of the BG to show the venue just in case.

Thanks for all of these amazing tips! My family goes to DLR March 15-19th and my kids Daughter (14) and Son (12) are dying to go on ROTR!! I am going to use all of these strategies and hope for the best!! They cannot wait to see Galaxy's Edge (me either)!

If, as was reported today, DL opens their turnstiles at 8:01 for a 9:00 open, it seems that a more efficient use of the time would be to get in line early at DL, scan in, then make a U-turn and head to DCA for EMH. Of course, we never know when they are going to open the turnstiles and start scanning. It would be nice if things were more...predictable.
Got a very generic email back from DL GS explaing how the virtual queue process worked . Obviously had some form of filter in place and when it read my mention of ROTR flagged a generic response of boarding groups. With it being dapper day, and my dad's health we'll be going at a leisure pace and don't know if they'll want to cross the espelande back to back. Looks like we'll only have a shot at ROTR Sat. Hopefully all the scenes are fully operational.

We were there Saturday and I had just updated my app the day before. We have our Star Wars after hours event tickets in our account and they did not come up in our BG selection. That was nice, saved a few seconds not having to take them out. Baby steps...

Thank you for this amazing update! We have three Star Wars DAD tickets in my account. I was a bit concerned about trying for BGs the next 6 months with having three additional clicks! Great news they fixed it!😅

Just wanted to come back to report and say thanks. We got BGs on Friday, Sat and Sun thanks to the tips. Friday we were by the Main St Cinema and got BG 35, Saturday our friend snagged BG 12 on the Esplanade, app glitched on Sunday for us, but DD got us Backup 105. We were called at approximately noon on Friday, 10:30 on Saturday and 5:30ish (after a breakdown) on Sunday. Thanks for everyone's tips and research!

Are they saying how long it
Might be down???
No.
move never been in line for a ride that I cared enough about in order to wait while it was down. Glad for smart phones. Waiting for the child next to me to fall asleep before having a meltdown. It’s touch and go.

Obviously the jawas are now riding the mynocks and Mando is nowhere to be seen! Hopefully it gets back up and running soon for those waiting in line!

Ok , just jumped in line at about 7pm with a 95 being called , holding a boarding group 18 ! Lol
Just testing to see how far we can push an early boarding group # ! 😂 ( been down on and off all day , and were told we could return ANYTIME ! )
Edit - line is moving VERY slow !
Edit - in and out took about 1 hour . All show scenes seemed to be working fine . Think it was a slow moving line because they were trying to recover from some downtime today . Up to105 now .

Looks like they have reached 105 with the park closing in 2 hours. Wonder if that's it for the night?

That's good to know.

I've noticed that since the update the app opens more slowly and takes a little longer to get into the "Find out More" screen, but I do have an older phone. Glad to hear that they've made some progress on that - hopefully it can also screen out special event tickets and the like.
Going tomorrow. So do you recommend updating the app or keeping it as is?

I recommend updating the app. I would open and close the app a few times in the hour prior to go-time without going on the "find out more" page. The app seems to open faster after I've opened it a few times...I would not risk using the older version which probably has more bugs than the new version.

Rough day today, and it seems that it was expected. So far both times they have issued only 61 regular groups there have been significant performance issues.

I'm musing on the inside about why running the attraction flat out for half a day crippled the attraction for a day and a half. Can't go into it without spoilers, though, so I'll have to post over on the spoiler thread once I have some extra time to organize my thoughts.

The early close tonight and the 9AM open tomorrow, along with the traditionally lighter Wednesday has me wondering if they'll come out cannons blazing tomorrow or if it will be another slowish day as they try and put some things back together. Only the ancients know...

@WonkaKid reported a few days ago that there's a new version of the DL app available for download. I installed the update on my phone and the next morning, I did the whole "play along at home" thing for a ROTR boarding group.

Prior to this update, when I'd play along at home, I'd have to un-check our 2 1-day parking passes (which I pre-purchased). But now the DL app recognizes that the 2 parking tickets are not actual PERSON tickets, so they don't even show up as an option to select or un-select in the ROTR boarding group thing.

Anyways, just thought I'd share that info in case anybody is in the same situation.
Thank you for posting this! I'll update the first page with this information.

Thank you for confirming the changes/updates to the app. Updates coming to the first page...

Good idea about the screenshot. You might try giving the Dine Line a call to see if the CM can call S55 directly for you if this scenario actually arises. That would save you a hike or at least let you hike at a more relaxed pace!

Definitely update your app. People have posted that when they opened the app at OPO, the first thing they got was a pop up telling them that they needed to get the update! Save yourself the aggravation and update now!

Good tip!
