I'm seeing multiple reports that the long-broken cannon fire effect is working again on Rise at DL.

Any first hand reports?

I'm not recalling just where this feature was. Guess I didn't miss it.

I rode it yesterday, and they were still static. Saw Scott's post this morning - rode it again this afternoon. Yes, they are back, and they are glorious.

(That was one of my favorite parts of those early 2020 rides. As often as they were apparently causing downtime, I assumed they were gone with the Indy doors - so amazing that they took the time to fix them.)

This is fantastic: going in a few weeks w/ my DH who hasn't been back in a while. Love that scene

That's great news!! When I was there with my grandson last week, it wasn't working. I was trying to explain the effect to him but I don't think he got it :D

This was one of the coolest action sequences of the ride, total bummer I only got to see it twice.

Glad to see it's back up.

Had a cast member tell me it was due to the fact if ANYTHING dropped into that area it caused a full shutdown and reset, for obvious safety issues.

Also hear it was a timing thing, but since the vehicles are autonomous and could adjust to things, not sure that was the case

Either way, it's a great effects and the back and forth motion feels like you are really avoiding being crushed.

I think rumor one was true cause I can see all kinds of things falling off when you're not expecting this ! They said every safety shutdown in this area was a 40 minute reset.

This is not specific to the canons, but for the ride in general. I'm not sure if it is 40 min but I know it takes a long time to reset after something (ex. mouse ears) falls onto the "track."

I had heard about the timing issue as well. Can't remember the exact details, but something about the cannons being off from the timing of the ride vehicles by like a millisecond, and then it would compound as the day went on and eventually it would cause a ride shutdown from there.

But yes, if anything is dropped anywhere on the ride track it causes a full shutdown and reset.
