RIP Tigger and Piglet

A sad weekend for Pooh fans.

Paul Winchell, the voice of Tigger, died on Friday at age 82.

Then Saturday, John Fiedler, or Piglet, passed away at age 80.

R.I.P. both.

So sad. My DS4 is going through a bit of a Winnie-The-Pooh stage at the moment, I can hear Paul/Tigger right this minute.

I am dating myself but I well remember Paul Winchell's tv show (yes, in black and white) from my youth. He was a remarkable man and did you all know that he counted one of the first artificial hearts among his inventions?

I forgot to mention that he is survived by Jerry Mahoney and Knucklehead Smiff.

I also just read that he was working on a streaming video compilation of golden oldies children's shows. Guess he remained young at heart and wise of mind up to the end.

Here I am, yet again,

Seems that Mr. Winchell was a practical man also. Not just in inventing an artifical heart but a device that would tell if a freezer was not working AND a disposable razor but more importantly of all,an invisible garter belt.

(you youngsters can pm me and I will tell you what garters are. I also know record players, 8 track tapes, typewriters and other ancient artifacts. Come to think of it, I am one as well)
