RIP Spencer Silver, the man who made the Post-It Note possible.

Chemist Spencer Silver died today at age 80 in Minneapolis. He was responsible for creating the repositionable adhesive that makes "sticky" notes work. (He actually created it by accident while working on something else, but it still counts!)

Love post it notes! There’s a new kind that is weatherproof and works awesome.

We tried one out. Used a sharpie marker and stuck to a brick on the side of our house. After 18 months including 2 winters we took it down. Note and writing still in perfect shape. Seemingly indestructible and won’t fall off
