How many here are old enough to remember the 70's movie "Love Story?" Been there, done that, played the piano solo for my grandparents' anniversary.

One of the oft-quoted cliches from the movie was "Love means never having to say you're sorry." In a later movie (comedy "What's Up Doc") Barbra Streisand says the quote and Ryan retorts, "That's the dumbest thing I ever heard."

How sad. I loved his movies. What's Up Doc is still one of the funniest movies I ever watched.
RIP Mr. O'Neal.

I saw it in the theater when I was in high school, such a sad movie.

Love Story and Brian's Song are in a dead heat for saddest Movie of all time.

Watch them back to back and you would need at least a week to recover.

My parents took me along to see LOVE STORY back in the day. I was in grade school. Other than Bambi, I don't recall ever crying as I was leaving the movie theatre. What the heck were my parents thinking? He was some kind of good looking wasn't he, LOL!

Ryan O'Neil, Paul Newman and Robert Redford were my older sister's silver-screen heart-throbs. :lovestruc

I just saw him the other day in “Barry Lyndon” with Marisa Berenson. Great film adaptation of an English author not studied in the states much these days.
His career could have been so much more. RIP.
