RIP: Rip Ride Rockit

If we're looking at a potential Intamin replacement then I won't really miss it since they're my favorite coaster manufacturer and can basically do no wrong these days IMHO. My ideal situation would be if Universal would just add this new coaster somewhere else in the park and keep Rip Ride Rockit (without getting rid of Mummy, of course) but I guess I can't get too greedy with coasters lol. 😄

I think I only rode it once.....it was fun, but crazy, and very rattly. Listening to "I Will Survive," blaring in my ear certainly made it easier to survive. I think it was neat coaster for a long time, DD really, really likes it, DS can take it or leave it, LOVES coasters like Hulk and VC, but says RRR is just too rough/shaky, DH hasn't ridden in years for the same reason. Hopefully they'll replace it with a better coaster or something wonderful!

It was fun in its time but with reduced music, random failures, and a very non forgiving restraints system I cant say Ill miss it. If they do add a fast and furious coaster that may also mean they git rid of the fast and Furious ride and build something new - so even better.

It was an interesting coaster but I will not really miss it either. Rode it for the first time in a while last visit and it was not an enjoyable experience. Uncomfortable restraints, stop and go style to the layout, and awkward forces along a rough track did not make for a great ride.
I'm very excited to see what they replace it with as their recent coaster additions have all been amazing. With the new buildings and locations I'm quietly hoping for a Ghostbusters themed coaster with a queue through the firehouse.

It hurts my head. More interesting how the demolition effects HHN since most of the soundstages queue and exits go under the coaster.

Yeah - had not thought about that - but I'm sure they will time it so as not to affect HHN or have an alternate route to get into the sound stages. They are not going to mess with that cash cow

I'd think it's pretty easy not to have active demolition overhead on those few pathways under the tracks during actual HHN hours. Other than that, construction walls in the backstage areas won't make too much difference for HHN. I'd be more curious if any of the new construction will actually inhabit any of those soundstages, or require them to be moved/removed.

Add me to the list of people who will NOT be sad to see this ride go. It's just too intense/painful for all the reasons listed above. I took it off my list of rides on our last visit. I exited the ride feeling like I had just suffered a traumatic brain injury from being thrown around and shaken so violently.

I hope they add an awesome SMOOTH coaster in its place. I have NO issues riding VelociCoaster, which is intense, but not in the least bit painful to me.

Well, Universal confirmed on their Twitter page that Rip Ride Rockit will close in September 2025.

Add me onto the list of people who won't miss this ride, especially after Universal completely gutted the song selection. One of the most uncomfortable coasters I've ever been on. I'm hoping for a replacement that's at the same quality level as Velocicoaster and Hagrid's!

Surprised they're closing it in middle of hhn. It was a good people eater.

Yeah - many of us were thinking March so they can have it taken down by HHN

From what I saw no - they are getting rid of a part of parking lot and adding a new building there near the NY area.
I do wonder about those queues in that area through. Looks like it may take some of the Jimmy Fallon Queue area they use for HHN.

I rode it more often than I rode Hulk (hate the over the shoulder restraints) but won't miss it terribly.

Liked the ride never bothered my head. I'll reserve judgement until I know what's going to replace it.
