Rip, Ride, Rockit!

This is from the 104.1 site:

That does not mean anything, aside from they might be broadcasting on-site. TMs have not had a chance to ride, plus the coaster is still under construction. It will open before HHN, hopefully.

I would have to disagree with you here. About the only things radio stations do live events from are ground breakings, grand openings, and special events. I've never heard of one from the middle of a construction site, to promote a delayed ride that is still delayed with a live radio remote would be like slapping yourself in the face just for fun. I have no idea where the lift rings are, but the ride could open without those, maybe thats why they are closing the parks so early in August, so they can weld those up at night. Major construction has been completed, techs have ridden the ride, and I would bet that you will see TM's getting on this by the first of next week, barring another problem. That would give them about 10 days for soft openings. I think this is just like the Power 96 station that advertised the July 4 grand opening remote last month, unless there is another delay or setback it will open on the 22nd or the remote will be cancelled again. Just my .02, but I'll bet that if the radio show is there, people will be on the ride, nothing else makes sense.

It could be a tentative broadcast event, depending on how the construction is going. Only a select few are allowed to ride at this time, if at all. TMs have not heard when they will get to ride. If things start getting posted in the next week or so, great! But until then, it's all speculation.

I'm hoping they hurry up and open it - I'd really hate to miss it :)

Okay, don't shoot me.

As much as I am a roller coaster lover, and so are my children, I'm starting to hope there is another delay. We'll be there 7/22 - 26 and I'm afraid it will draw huge crowds not just for it but for the parks in general. I'm afraid all you local types will run down to Universal and ruin our little getaway. The way I look at it, it will still be there next time and will give my kids something to look forward to. This trip will be the first that the two oldest can ride Hulk and Dueling Dragons, so they'll be thrilled without it.

Are the crowds a legitimate concern or am I worried for nothing and should just enjoy the ride if it's open?

If you are staying onsite you have nothing to worry about. In fact, it might take away from crowds on other rides.

Don't shoot me now....Remember last year when The Simpsons opened? Express was not available for a while right after the opening...I hope that's not the case with the HR3.

Thank you for saying this. I will go on the assumption we cannot get FOTL even if it's open to the public, then if it's available great. We will not wait in the regular line unless we are first in the park, which we usually try to be.

I suspect it will indeed be the case that there is no Express for a while. It's going to take them plenty of time just to get down the loading on a continuosly loading belt. People take enough time getting into a ride like Mummy, not to mention guests with disabilities. I predict lots of early messiness and delays with the loading, so I doubt they will allow Express till that is sorted out. They STILL won't allow the Platinum re-rides on Manta (and it STILL loads slow and tends to break down frequently, although it's still an awesome coaster).

Honestly, a big new E-ticket helps distribute the weight around the parks.. I think it'll make our visits even better.

Agreed as Hulk and DD are better than HRRR anyway....well ridewise. Only thing good about HRRR is the onride music and it's new new lol.

I leave in a week and Im really hoping it's open but my hopes are around my knees at the minute

I remember that but the poster said he wasn't worried about hr^3 but more about the lines for the other rides that would be caused by increased attendance due to hr^3.

It defeinly sounds like a very intresting ride , if I ever go to Florida again I make a note of it. I got a quick question I loved Roller costers however I'm not that keen to go on floorless costers (ie the hulk and DD and some of the rides in Six Flags as much as I want to do them). My questision does this coster go upside down. I read about the bit where it turns so it goes over the loop and what of sort vehciles will the coster be.
