Which ones better? I've been on the Rockit thousands of times by now and think its the best coaster in Orlando--but now I'm hearing that the new Manta coaster at SeaWorld is even better?
What are you guys thinkin?

You live in Orlando. Why not just go there and let us know? Personally I don't think HRRR is all that good. I still prefer the 0 to blastoff the Hulk has to the leisurely pull of Rockit, even if the music is better.

I guess I should, but I havent had a chance to go out there because not too many other people have SeaWorld passes here and I dont want to go for a day just by myself
That's why I'm asking what's better--maybe I should take time to go try out Manta if it really is better

speaking as a huge coaster fan, Ive been on both,

but Manta is my clear fave, something about the smoothness and thrill from the pretzel loop to the flying on your belly its just so much fun. dont get me wrong Ripit rockit is nice, but i like the manta then again its all on your personal preference so get to it and report back :)

well i find Rockit to be boring..nothing thrilling at all in the coaster..i've been on it a few times just b/c i go at off peak times and don't have to wait long..

i like manta better but after the first drop there is roll or loop (i've just been on it once) something that hurts my neck and is uncomfortable..i was rubbing my neck after i got off and wouldn't go on back to back rides..this could just be me though..but the coaster is a lot more thrilling than Rockit..I even like Kraken better than Rockit and Manta..just b/c I love that twisting dive part...

Hulk used to be my favorite but the ride has become a little rough lately,my favorite coaster in Orlando has been Kraken at Sea World for several years now.Manta is very good but the G's it pulls during the pretzel loop are pretty forceful and makes it a ride that I just don't ride over and over.Rip Ride Rockit is good but nowhere as good as the major B&M's in the area.I prefer Dueling Dragons/Dragon Challenge and Revenge of the Mummy to Rip Ride Rockit.I'll make a top 10 list of Orlando coasters since everyone loves a list.

1.Kraken
2.Dueling Dragons/Dragon Challenge
3.Revenge of the Mummy
4.Manta
5.Hulk
6.Rip Ride Rockit
7.Space Mountain
8.Rock n Roller coaster
9.Everest
10.Big Thunder mtn

If I were to include the coasters at Busch Gardens here, Sheikra,Kumba,Gwazi and Montu would be included here, with Montu being number #1 as Montu is probably in my top 5 worldwide.I'll take that back Gwazi probably wouldn't be here as in the last couple of years I don't know how I haven't broken a rib on that ride.

Manta is INTENSE. It's also really fun. I can't say which is better, but if you like higher intensity coasters, you'll love Manta. Rockit is good fun.

On a related note, if I can handle Dueling Dragons and Hulk (although the lift-off freaks me out!), can I handle Manta and Kraken?

You should consider getting an AP to Sea World...I pay less than $9.00/month for mine and that price will not increase as long as you keep it active. I rarely go to SW and sadly can not ride coasters any longer because of my back problems...I hate getting old! It doesn't bother me to go alone to the parks. I like to go to walk around, people watch and eat. Plus it's fun to see what's going on that people on the DIS may not know about since they aren't local. I got over the "going alone" thing a long time ago. It's really not a big deal. :thumbsup2

I agree,I'm not even a local as I'm about a 3.5 hour drive away and I've gone to the parks by myself many times.I also have the Sea World/Busch parks on EZ PAY,I have the Platinum pass which gets me into all 3 Sea World parks, both Busch Garden parks and the waterparks in Tampa and Virginia,I've been paying it for almost 10 years now and I just pay $12 a month since they don't raise the prices as long as you keep paying it.

Yes-ish. Kraken is smoother than Hulk/Dragons. Manta is a brute, but you should be fine. *I* find I cannot ride Manta 2x in a row without feeling woozy.
