Kidd Kradick, a radio personality, passed away suddenly recently while at a fund-raiser for his charity: Kidd's Kids.
Kidd's Kids is much like a Make-A-Wish program, which sent more than a dozen catastrophically ill or disabled children to Disney World every year. He said he looked for the kids who "fell through the cracks" of other programs.
I was lucky enough to be spending the same week in Disney World one year as Kidd's Kids - they were some of the most cheerful, well-behaved children I have ever met. In fact, I was in the airport security line with them (obviously they all had either a wheelchair or medical equipment or medical liquids or something with them), and we chatted for a while.
I only listened to his show occasionally, but I always respected the man for what he did.
I sincerely hope that his program continues in his memory.
