I saw Bobby Hull play in the tiny dump Cherry Hill Arena, home of the Jersey Knights for 2/3 of a season. You think Arizona playing in a college arena is bad?

Gordie Howe, Gerry Cheevers, and a handful of other stars too. They probably had flashbacks to their junior days.

I was at the games against the Jets and Houston Aeros (Gordie Howe & Sons).That place was only meant for recreational skating and some small events

I do remember when the Sharks has their first few seasons, they set up at the Cow Palace just south of San Francisco. Many of the NHL players thought it was great because it had the vibe of many old school NHL facilities. It wasn't tiny, but it was very much old school. I've been there once for a college basketball game.

It was also where the Warriors played during the 1975 NBA Finals. In Oakland they had little faith that the Warriors would make it and booked the arena for the Ice Follies.

Did you ever see the Eastern League Jersey Devils there? I went to about two dozen times. You could skate for free after many games.



My HS hockey team played there too. Plus they had Roller Derby, concerts, the circus, and other events.

Never saw the Devils but did go skating there a couple of times with the a Church youth group.And a Roller Derby match.
