RIP aussie dollar

It seems that the dollar is tuned to my Families trips to the USA every time we plan a trip (this our third)The dollar goes down.Although this time we did book and pay Disney and only have to pay for MNSSHP tickets.MNSSHP is going to be a surprise for the Kids.DW and I are still trying to select which date is best for MNSSHP .We are hoping that dollar stays high as we have a few other non Disney items to book.Last time we travelled in 2008 it was in the US60 cent range and we still had a great time,And no doubt will again. The whole family is just looking forward to being in Orlando with the hardest decision being which park to go to.:grouphug:

Well the Kiwi $ continues to slip and apparently it all depends on Greece for us. If Greece leaves the Eurozone, our dollar will go into freefall say the analysts.:sad2: Who would have guessed that I would have ever cared so much about what happens to Greece!!

buzzfan, this is NOT good! We have the same affect on the dollar every time we go too. And if you're there for MNSSHP then we could be there at the same time. Double whammy

Lately I'm spending almost as much time on the XE currency site than I am on the DIS !:crazy2:

I just keep reminding myself how excited i was to average 84 cents for our first trip in 2010 :) unfortunatley it's not always working:rotfl2:

Me to I am checking it every half hour or so
I think i have just got to used to seeing parity when we pay for something I didn't know whether to pay for things or wait and see in the end we decided it was to much of a risk I really don't want to wake up tomorrow and see 50 cents and think why did i wait :scared1::scared1:
So i will just keep chipping away each week;)

:goodvibesLets just hope they bail out Greece again so we can all get our trips done with a high $:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Ok you ladies that are the jinx I demand you cancel your plans for a week so the $$ can go back up and I can exchange my money! :rotfl:

I have actually exchanged most, still need to do about $3-4000 more though should just bite the bullet and do it? We stil have 4 months before we go.

Xe is getting a work out, do they have advertisers? They'd be making a motes with all the hits they get :rotfl2:

I also have tried to get the ladies to holiday in greece rather than USA.....but what can you do???

Please reserve bank, drop interest rates again and make this AussieK happy :firefight then the money I save on that can go to make up for the USD fiasco

For our trip last year we bought most of our US$ around 96-97c. Then as soon as we leave it goes back up to over $1. Then as soon as I booked and paid a deposit on our next holiday for Dec '13 it goes back down. I'm sorry, I think it's all my fault. :confused3

We bought into Wyndham in Vegas and our monthly fees come off our c/c so hopefully it won't go back to 50c.

1.00 AUD = 0.98554 USD

I knew it would start to go up again as soon as I bought some $$$$ ! It's not much but hopefully it's a good sign :confused3

oh dear..i havent checked for a few days.....

baby come back!

You guys all worry too much. Anything above 90c is fine with me.

Stuff in general costs less in the US and unless it plummets to the level it was on our first trip in 2000 (52c or so) I'm not too concerned.

Hmmm should I bite the bullet and get the rest of our money changed now? If interest rates go down again next week I think it will drop even further. We go in just under 4 months.......

:rolleyes1I'm sure I'm the only person in Australia praying for interests rates to not go down or at least stay the same just for the next 2 months :goodvibes

Inconsiderate of the economy huh?

I have about $900 left to go on our WDW package, but I can syphon through our travel card, which after working it out on an exchange of .95 would save close to $50.
