Ringworm in cats?

Our new kitten is the most precious thing on earth and we love her to bits. I do believe she has given my children ringworm. Both of my girls have it and I'm treating it with chlortrimazole. If my girls have it, I'm assuming the kitty does, which also means she gave it to our other cat.

She has a vet appointment for her 3 month shots at the end of January. Can I wait until then to take her for the ringworm? She is showing no signs of it at all (neither is the other cat) but I read that they don't necessarily show signs.
Do pet places have a dip/bath over the counter for this?
Thanks for any advice, if you've been through this!

Both of my kids had ringworm and neither of my two cats had it. So it is possible the cats don't have it.

Ringworm went through my son's kindergarten class, oye, what a hassle that was and DD got it on her head from the floor at her daycare providers - If I remember correctly it is a form of athletes foot and pretty common.

Our cats have never had it but I know they can be carriers. Generally round bald patches are indicators. I would call the vet and get kitty in, they used to use a black light to find it and then treat with a cream similar to how we treat it in humans. Its been many years but that is how it was treated when we encountered it.

There are different strains of ringworm. It's very possible your kids got it elsewhere and that your kitties don't have it. Look for bald patches or red raised areas on the skin. If you happen to have a black light it will florence about 60% of cases. If you really think the cat has it you should take her in soon than a few weeks from now if you can.

When we adopted a kitten from the shelter, she had ringworm which spread to our other cat and to me! Not pleasant. You will need to give the kitten a special bath, so go to the vet. Honestly, it took longer for me to get rid of it than for her!
