Ringing in my ear - driving me crazy!!!

I started a new medicine (Lexapro) for anxiety and have the lovely side effect of ringing in my ear. It is driving me up a wall!!!

Has anyone else dealt with this? Does it go away???

My dr. said to try for a few more days but it sure makes getting to sleep extremely difficult. I have to admit, it has only been 1 week - but it is annoying!!!

I deal with it 24/7 for the past 15 years and yes it is annoying. Try having a fan or some white noise going in your room and that will help mask the sound. Typically ringing in your ears signals some hearing loss but since you know what the cause is you probably don't have to worry.

I will have to try that...during the day it is not as bad. I keep music on at my desk at work and that seems to help.
