Ringing in 2010, 6 months til we'll be back again

Watching Stacy is a great way to relax.:thumbsup2
That's weird that the CMs were pushing people away.
Cute pictures of the girls in front of the tree. I'd love to be there for the balloon drop one day.

It sounds like you've had a busy week MeMom! First, congrats to Trent on the new job. Hugs to you

:cool1: on the Mother's Day trip! You will have such a wonderful time!

I love Drew's pictures. He's got a good eye for composition! :goodvibes AK is one of my favorite parks (ok, let's be honest, they are all my favorite while I am there!). The trick to seeing the tigers while the are active is to go when it is cooler! When we were there in Jan, they were all over the place. It was a balmy 45ish degrees, but they apparently like the cold! Of course, there are other animals that we missed because it was so chilly. :upsidedow

I just wanted to say thanks again for all the prayers for my family and grandma. She passed away peacefully Friday afternoon; my grandpa and one of my uncles were with her. She is one my heroes and I strive to be more like her. She was a touch lady and a fighter, but loving, caring, welcoming and creative.

I spent Thursday night with her and the nurses seemed pretty amazed with how long she had made it. They say that many times, people who are dying wait for a holiday, to see a loved one, etc. I have a feeling that she was waiting until she knew Grandpa would be ok. As can be expected, he is taking this hard. I think benefit of hospice it gives the family time to say good bye, but you are never truly ready to let go.

Anyway, thanks again for the prayers and for letting me use this as a sounding board. Hope every has a wonderful weekend.

Rachel

Ahhhh the Grand Floridian :cloud9: looks like a little piece of heaven on Earth. Such an amazing resort.

That's pretty cool that they have the balloons all strung up like that waiting to be dropped. Has to be pretty neat to actually have been there when they did!

The girls look so cute in front of the tree! Bella is ALWAYS smiling...or sleeping :rotfl:

Good girl, Brookie! Watching Stacy! :thumbsup2 That's all we watch on the t.v. when we're in the room. :rotfl:

Aw, I love those pics of the girls in front of the tree. Bella is always a happy camper. :cutie:

We're arriving late on June 30th. Maybe we can do a quick hello and picture for the report on the 1st?

Yeah, that would be fun! My girls would love to meet those sweet girls they keep seeing in all the pictures. :cutie: We don't have any plans yet but we'll probably hang around and go to a park for a while on the 1st since it's our last day and it's always so hard to leave. :guilty: Since we drive we don't leave until the evening and we try to stay as late as possible...we've also been known to just stay another day. :rolleyes1 When it gets closer we'll pick a meeting place. :)

*Sigh* I love the GF. :cloud9: I could just sit in the lobby all day, listening to the band and people watching.

Me too!! My favorite breakfast is 1900 Park Fare and I love to sit in the lobby after breakfast and just.....be. :cloud9:

While MeMom and Drew were at Animal Kingdom Brooklynn enjoyed some down time watching Stacy.

Gotta love Stacy! We actually downloaded it from youtube and put it on DH's ipod.

This is (DD6)Miren's imitation of Stacy in May 2008
100_2424-1.jpg

and in Sept. 2008 she asked me to take her picture w/ her. :rotfl: She says she wants to have Stacy's job when she grows up. :thumbsup2

This a picture I found while looking for the other ones and I know some people here have a fondness for Bo. ;) This was in Feb. 2009. We walked in and she just went and stood there waiting for me to take her picture.

Tell Drew he is very talented!! Great pics!! Love the GF pics. Such a beautiful place especially at Christmas. Hope you are all having a great weekend!!

Wow, the GF is really pretty!!! It seems pretty fancy. I'm not sure it would be my style. Is it your style MeMom?

I like to go to all the resorts to experience all of the different atmospheres, but my comfort zone would be more cozy, tropical, or animal - Wilderness Lodge, Old Key West/Beach Club/Polynesian and Animal Kingdom Lodge, if we could afford them.

My sweet girls! I love you, Brooklynn and Bella! :lovestruc :lovestruc
Brooklynn, when I talked to Mommy today you were taking a nap and Bella was climbing on the couch and laughing. Sorry I missed talking to you. It was fun to hear Bella cracking up laughing!

Brooklynn got her daily dose of Stacy. ::yes::

You have been in our thoughts and will continue to be as you go through the adjustments ahead. You are always welcome to bring your burdens, cares, and joys here for us to share.

I would like to see them fall sometime. I imagine that can be arranged on a future trip. :)

True; if Bella is awake she's usually happy.

You'll get your Stacy fix soon - and maybe on a brand new TV in a brand new Pop room. You should call and request a new one. :goodvibes

When it gets closer we'll pick a meeting place. :)

And there they are - Stacy and future Stacy! :cool1:

Hope it works out for us to meet up.

Tell Drew he is very talented!! Great pics!! Love the GF pics. Such a beautiful place especially at Christmas. Hope you are all having a great weekend!!

Thanks for the kind words.
I'll just be glad when he gets a good job and can pay his way through life!

It was a quiet Saturday here. Both boys have come in and eaten, and it looks like they've settled in for the evening. As they often do, they stayed with friends last night, so I'm guessing they got little sleep and will be ready to turn in early tonight.

Oops, I spoke too soon, I just heard the downstairs door open, so someone is having company.

Okay, I have a strange hatred of balloons (I don't like it when they pop -- some weird leftover fear from childhood :rotfl:), but I think it would be really cool to see all those balloons drop on New Years!

I'm with you on GF being a little out of the comfort zone. I would love to stay at the Beach Club as long as I don't have to see that clown slide. We got to walk around there a little bit, too, and it was gorgeous! The idea of being to walk to Epcot is really, really appealing to me, too.

Love all the pictures. We never did make it inside the GF. We monorailed by it.:sad2:

Did you make it to any of the Boardwalk resorts? I did make to all 3 so if you didn't make it, I can post some pictures if you like.

Somehow in the back of my mind I was OK with not making it to the GF, Wilderness lodge and Fort Wilderness because I knew you would have some awesome pictures!:thumbsup2

Goodness, I was sooooo far behind and SO much news has happened since I was here last! :dance3:

Mop, she is just ADORABLE! So cute!!

What a very fun meet! Erica, you are just beautiful with that pregnancy glow!

Okay guys, Trent got the call this afternoon, and they said

they

did

want

him! :cool1:

Congratulations Trent!!!!! That is very exciting news!

I've already been crying, but I waited until he left for the gym. I am trying to just stay happy and positive. He knows I'll miss him like crazy, and I will bawl like a baby when he leaves, but this is what we prepare our kids for, making lives of their own. We'll work out the logistics of traveling and getting used to seeing each other less frequently, and we'll all be okay. The first year Jill was at college and I didn't have my first baby at home on her birthday, I cried. I am lucky that Jill is only a couple of hours away, and I would rather it have been the same for Trent, but I don't choose their paths for them. I have raised them to be competent individuals who can stand on their own without Mommy right beside them. They know I will always be here for them if they need me. I will be their biggest cheerleader in anything they pursue. They don't have to live with me or beside me to be in my heart and thoughts every single day. I'm guessing I will see Trent fewer times a year for longer periods, and I will see Jill more times for shorter periods. Jill and I can just about do every other to every third weekend for a day or a weekend. With Trent, it will be maybe once every few months, but we'll stay for 4-5 days, and then even more on the summer trips. He and Jamie can show us around Orlando when we are there for trips.

Beautifully said. This is my hope on how I raise Henry. Should he choose to stay close to home, or choose to move far away and run after a dream -so be it. As long as he is happy, I know I will be.

And that is just what my Mom said to me when I moved to NYC years ago. She was sad, but excited for me. (and I'm sure she'll be saying that again when we move back!) It's hard for everyone, but it's good. Many hugs to you, Jill and the girls!

Food. Not ours. I took a picture of someone else's food while they weren't looking. :upsidedow

:rotfl: This made me laugh out loud!!! You are awesome!

The exciting news is

the world's best daughter :lovestruc

is taking

her very honored and humbled mother

to DISNEY WORLD

for Mother's Day!!! :yay:

Aieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT IS GREAT NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

The plans look great! Is it just a girls trip?

Balloons ready to drop for New Year's Eve.

IMG_2866.jpg

I was at the GF this day too-but just slightly after you were I think. I loved the balloons up there, that would have been a great sight to see, but I would still choose our party on the beach! :goodvibes

There was an Epcot bus at the stop and a huge line at the Magic Kingdom stop so we hopped on the Epcot bus and planned on taking the monorail over. We got to the monorail station and it was blocked off. There were two CMs standing at the bottom. They were turning people away. We walked up and they asked our destination. We said we were headed to the TTC and then on to the Grand. They asked to see our park passes. We all pulled out our annual passes and they let us right through. As we were walking up the ramp the CMs were turning people away left and right. Just a few people were getting through.

Same thing happened to me! Weren't all the cars just nuts? I took a few pics of the parking lots filled all the way to the back as I went along on the monorail. Eventually I'll get that far in my TR too.

then you would be ok at the beach club because the clown slide is at the boardwalk! the beach club pool was one of the reasons I wanted to stay there. I knew the boys would love the pool. never got to use it....was WAY to COLD!!

Oh right :rotfl: Thank you for clearing that up! Even more reason to try to stay there in the future!

I don't like popping balloons, either, because I don't like loud noises. I'd be okay with falling balloons at the GF on NYE, but if people started popping them, I'd be ready to go walking around outside

probably toward the Poly beach

where all the action will be

this year! :dance3:

No clowns at Beach Club, like k_reile said. I would love to walk out my door at Beach Club and take a stroll through World Showcase whenever the mood hit me. I really hope to stay there someday, if only for a night or two.

We didn't get over that way, so feel free to share. It was a shorter trip, so we just didn't have time for everything. Fort Wilderness is coming up in the next group of pictures.

I figured you'd rather see the Flame Tree meals a lot more than what I was going to be eating. :)

Just the girls for this trip. ::yes::

Jamie said it is their goal to get the whole family to Florida.

Did your mom move to where you are now, and will she be moving back to NYC? Any news on the house selling?

Too bad you didn't get to enjoy that awesome pool. You'll have to do it again and maybe plan for a spring, summer, or fall trip when the kids can really make use of it.

Oh right :rotfl: Thank you for clearing that up! Even more reason to try to stay there in the future!

I love the atmosphere at Beach Club. It's got Cape May, too, which is a definite plus. :thumbsup2

You come out of hiding to say good job to the man's pictures! :yay: We miss you and Ma around here.
I have been thinking of you guys during the Olympics, since Canada has been in the spotlight.

LOL, I didn't realize they were a man's pictures when I was looking at them. I guess I should have, the quality is so high. ;):lmao:

Hopefully I will be around a bit more now that our season came to a crashing end last night. I probably will even have time to finish up all the pictures from last summer and get them posted.

The Olympics have been great and it looks like Canada will lead the gold medal race for once.

Drew's pictures were beautiful! I loved the flower ones the best. Oh, and the turtle statue one, and the fountain one, and the one of the tree of life.
Brooklyn and Bella look so cute sitting under the Floridian tree, laughing with each other.

Count me for the no popping balloons club! Ever since I was little and the race where you would run get a balloon and sit on it to pop it.... I opt out.
I work where we always have birthday parties and we have to blow up balloons. On Sundays we collect the balloons that floated to the ceiling the night before and dispose of them. I carefully cut a slit and let the air out slowly- no popping. To add insult to the phobia ON MY WEDDING DAY we needed balloons and 1 popped right next to my cheek as we were bring them back to the house after I had my hair and makeup done. It is amazing I actually touch them at all.:lmao:

No clowns at Beach Club, like k_reile said. I would love to walk out my door at Beach Club and take a stroll through World Showcase whenever the mood hit me. I really hope to stay there someday, if only for a night or two
.

We were lucky to have a very special stay there. Can you say upgrade? :thumbsup2 The short walk is great. Bus to Mk and AK not so great but the good out weighs the bad.

We didn't get over that way, so feel free to share. It was a shorter trip, so we just didn't have time for everything. Fort Wilderness is coming up in the next group of pictures
.

I will see what I can dig up. I have to check what made it photobucket already.

Morning friends!

Sorry I have been a miss on here, it's been a busy week.

Work is crazy right now, too much to do and not enough hours in the day.

I worked 14 hrs yesterday....

I went to the USA on Friday night, I needed a few things and the snow had finally stopped. Roads were clear.

I was so happy to find a little Disney....I got a Mickey easter basket and various Character easter window clings.

But the highlight of my night was...the very yummy and limited edition....

:shamrock: SHAMROCK SHAKE!!! :shamrock:

I look forward to getting one of these every year, and yes I do drive to the USA to get one. :thumbsup2
(Canada stopped selling them many years ago
)

***************
Drew's pics are great! He should definitely persue this as a job! :goodvibes

I love looking at the holiday pics, the details in the decorating are amazing!

One day I will see the GF at Christmas....and maybe for New Years too.

I'm off to buy groceries....:)

Me too...especially since she is staying at my new favorite place...Ft Wilderness Cabins!!!

**************************
I was happy to have a lot of great company at school this afternoon. Jill's crew came, follwed about 5-10 minutes later by Dawn, Margot, and Erica.

Dawn and her sweet girl.

Margotmeet2-19-2010001.jpg

Wait Wait Wait....Stop the Bus right now.....Dawn had a baby??????:eek:Where the heck have I been???????????????????????????????

And obviously its not new news.....I so apologize....yeesh...I am out of the loop! Congratulations Dawn!!!!!!

Margotmeet2-19-2010005.jpg

We had a great time seeing Dawn and Erica. They have a big weekend planned. I guess next time we see Erica, she will have a new little boy for us to ooh and aah over.

Very nice Dis meet....I love how everyone gets to meet up!!!! :yay:

We will have an amazing time. We'll meet on a future trip, I imagine. I am hoping we can go 3-4 times a year as long as Trent is there, and more if possible, of course.

All of the colorfully painted animals in the park are so cool. I wish he had taken more pictures.

***************************************

After leaving Animal Kingdom, the plan was to meet everyone else at Grand Floridian. Drew wanted to go on back to Pop, so I went to GF by myself. While I was on the bus, Jill called and said they were already there waiting on me.

Cider was being served ouside the entrance.

th_IMG_2860.jpg

Walking into the beauty of the Grand lobby.

th_IMG_2862.jpg

th_IMG_2864.jpg

I met the rest of the group and got a few shots around the lobby.

th_IMG_2865.jpg

Jill and I wanted the guys to see Fort Wilderness with all of the crazy Christmas decorations, so we boarded a boat to do just that.

th_IMG_2876.jpg

We all got fun stickers. :)

IMG_2880.jpg

Wow the GF is just gorgeous huh? I love how they serve Cider too! Some day I want to see for myself! Love that you got stickers too....lol! Can't wait to see Ft Wilderness!!! :thumbsup2
