Ringing in 2010, 6 months til we'll be back again

LOL. loved the picture of Bo! How was your day back MeMom?

Welcome Home. It sounds like you had a great time.

Thanks. We did.

Why is it so cold in Tennessee right now?????
I would say we might try to meet this weekend if Jill can come, but the weather is too iffy with the impending snow, so we probably should wait until next weekend or the next.

I love the picture of Bo! If we had seen that, we wouldn't have given you weird looks, we'd thank you for giving us an idea. :rotfl2:

I got to put in for the time off work for my sister and I yesterday (we work together now.) Putting in for the time off makes it seem so close. I hope you had an easy day back into real life!

I wanted to put a scarf around his neck, too, but I forgot to take one.

It is close! even if it is cool down there, I'm sure it is going to be wonderful compared to what you've been having.

LOL Loving this...yes simply loving it!!!! Great stuff!!!

Wouldn't a red and white striped scarf have been the perfect addition? I have to think what I'll have Bo doing or wearing when we go back this summer.

Hey ladies (and gents!) I have stayed away far too long and apparently missed the live updates from your trip. But, as I was out and about in my post Christmas chaos, I did wonder to myself how the Memom family trip was going. From the texts and photos thus far, it looks like a great time. I can't wait to hear more!!

We missed you, mop!
Can we get a Christmas picture of our, uh, I mean your sweet kiddies?

We did have a good time. Brooklynn had a great time swimming and was very happy to see the Tiana showboat show.

Chelsea was just tickled pink tonight when I showed her Bo wearing his festive attire!!! Thanks again, MeMom, for helping him get into the holiday spirit!!! :goodvibes

You mean she didn't think we were weird? ;)

LOL. loved the picture of Bo! How was your day back MeMom?

Quiet, unlike what tomorrow will be. :upsidedow

I'm just going to start the catch up with this last page, because it would take all night to go back and do replies to everyone. We really do appreciate all the good thoughts and the interest in the trip. We really do consider you guys friends. We have met several of you now, and I can honestly say, not one of you is weird. :rotfl:

To whoever wanted Trent's Facebook information, I hope you got it and were able to follow along. He was frustrated with Facebook, but I think he got a few pictures up throughout the trip. My cell phone pictures were horrible, but I was just trying to help you be standing right beside me while I was listening to Main Street singers or whatever.

Thanks Heather, Dawn, Erica, and tinkgurl for updating everyone as we went along.

wigd, we will have a meal together, for sure. Probably just a counter service so we don't have to set a day and time yet. Maybe Sunshine Seasons where there are lots of choices for everyone?

To all who followed the live feed from the Polynesian New Year's Eve, my oldest son is really a semi-normal person by day, but when Dave said the followers were asking for entertainment, Trent was the obvious choice. He is not camera shy, and he is absolutely people friendly. At first he wasn't even going to go down to the beach with us, but when I told him he needed to come just for a few minutes and meet our Dis friends, he agreed. Little did he know he would be so involved in the evening.

If you ever get the chance to enjoy NYE fireworks in Disney World in person, it is indeed a treat.

Stay warm, everyone. I am going to throw on an extra blanket tonight and try to keep this heating bill reasonable, but we're supposedly not going to be above freezing for at least the next eight days. Many of you are used to that, I guess, but we're not around here. All three major weathermen are saying we're getting a snow day Thursday. I work with the wife of one of them, and we are counting on him to make this a short week! :thumbsup2

You mean she didn't think we were weird? ;)

Um, you forget who her mother is ...she thinks it is totally normal and sweet and funny that people she has never met take pictures of her plywood boyfriend for her, but dressing him in a Santa hat really made her laugh out loud. :lmao:

It is the same forecast here in Georgia, and I can promise you that most of us are not used to it AT ALL. I find myself tensing up when I have to walk out the door because it is just so cold! Our weatherman is saying we might get two inches of snow on Thursday. I was showing the other teachers on my hall two inches on the ruler this afternoon and whispering, "Two inches. We might get two whole inches of snow." (This is why my daughter doesn't think her mom's DIS board friends are weird.) I do so hope we get that much. I want to make pancakes and bacon and play in the snow. Then, I want to come back in and make hot chocolate with mounds of whipped cream on top. (Sadly, since I already have my snow day planned in my mind, it probably won't happen.)

We've had snow on the ground since we've been home from Disney and are supposed to get more Wednesday. The high Thursday is supposed to be 8. I hope I'm home with you all on Thursday too!
I just want to sit on the sofa and DIS all day!
What could be better, a day with my friends!

they are calling for snow for us on thursday, too. and it is horribly cold here. i am definitely not used to it!!! i think the worst part is pumping gas with the cold wind whipping around you. and i refuse to get back into my car while the tank fills because i'm afraid i'll get a static electricity spark and blow myself up. i know people in the north laugh at us southerners when we complain about the cold, but then we return the favor when they complain about 90-degree weather in july since we sometimes see temps over 100!

We'll have to think of some other fun ways for Bo to say hello in the future. :)

They are calling for one to three inches here, which is definitely enough for one snow day and possibly two. I hope that banana is not dancing in vain.

What's the normal snowfall patterns in your area? Here we get possibly one or two of any measure, as in and inch or so. Rarely do we get over three inches. Three inches is a huge deal. We get mostly a few dustings of snow around here.

Please don't blow yourself up. We wouldn't want to lose your humor around here!

You were supposed to have gotten a box by today at the latest. Have you seen any sign of it?

Welcome home! Hope you had a good day back at school. I would be happy to send some snow your way if you wish. It's supposed to snow here all week! :headache: I keep telling Ben I'm ready to move somewhere warm, but he just laughs at me.

Thank you for sending me the wonderful pictures!!! I waited patiently everyday for a wonderful piece of Disney from you!! :lmao:

I laughed and laughed at Trent! I couldn't help it I had to text him and tell him it was funny. Then when he walked up to the camera and said, "Heather, its really not funny. It isn't!" It made it even funnier!! :lmao: I told him he is quite the entertainer!! I have more video, they just aren't the best quality plus you can hear me laughing in the background! :rotfl2:

I do hope we get some snow this week!!!!!! Hollie was so pitiful a couple of weeks ago. She looked at me and Chad and said, 'Mommy and daddo...have you ever seen snow in your life?" Ahhhh, it made my heart melt! I want my sweet baby to see some snow and play in it!

We got more snow a few days ago! The snow in the pictures on Facebook was almost all melted, too. I lost track of when exactly it snowed, but it was very off and on over the course of like 2 days. It didn't amount to too much, maybe 6 or 7 inches, but with it being so off and on, I am sure it would have canceled school...had it been in session. :upsidedow

WOW! :faint:

Dawn does have a VERY good point -- I would not be happy with summer temps over 100. I hope that banana is not dancing in vain, either!

You were supposed to have gotten a box by today at the latest. Have you seen any sign of it?

just checked the front porch to be sure and nothing there. and it wasn't in the mailbox this afternoon. but now you have me all excited! :yay:

Snow on our street. Cold cold cold.... which matches the cold, cough junk I got just in time to go back to school, which we all do because writing sub plans is way harder than going (especially when you forgot what you were doing today).

I could sure use some sunshine and warm weather.... come on summer!

Glad you had a great trip MeMom... how was your leg/knee? Did it feel better than it did in Oct.

Jill I hope this week is smooth for you too.... hope you get caught up.

Hello Bo! I hope somebody brought a blanket to keep him cozy because it is cold!
I hope you get your snow day on Thursday. It's 34 degrees in South Florida!:scared1:

i told ray earlier tonight that i was ready for spring. he just looked at me and said, "dawn, winter just officially started like 2 weeks ago." yeah....don't remind me. :sad2:

Cold here to MeMom. We are also being told snow is likely to hit us Thursday.
I know all the kids(and teachers too) are holding their breath. They don't allow for snow days around here, so they'll have to be made up at the end of the year.
There will surely be a run on the grocery store and Walmart. You never know we might get snowed in for 9 or 10 hours. lol Can't wait to hear about the trip. Better go make my shopping list.

If you could send me snow every Tuesday at midnight, we could have five Wednesdays off. We have five days that we don't have to make up - they are already built in. We either work them or get them off if it snows, so I'll take Option B! I think I could make it through the winter quite nicely if my schedule was M-T-off-Th-F-off-off. :)

I couldn't make it any further north. I can't function in the cold. I do better in extreme hot than extreme cold.

Tennessee is a good place to live. We get all four seasons, but not extremes, really, so if you ever decide to move south, think about coming this way.

When you asked by text about the family sitting in the grass, I said to the camera that it was us and said, "Hi, Heather!" I was probably too far away for you to hear me. Earlier, I was up at the porch talking with Dave and Kathy for a while, and I didn't realize they had the camera on yet. You could have heard us good then, if you had been on. After he said the camera was on, I moved on out to the grass, and then I took Bella for a walk up and down the beach and pool area for a while.

Maybe Hollie will get some snow. One year when my dad was stationed at Robins AFB, we got a good snowstorm. Every child should know the joy of decorating a snowman, making a snow angel, and coming in with rosy cheeks for hot chocolate and a warm blanket.

I'm like wigd - I'm planning on a lounging around snow day on Thursday so I can get caught up on my Dising!

Are you going to send cell phone pictures from your trip so we can be there with you?

They said the 4th, but maybe with the holiday schedule it'll take another day or two. If you don't get it, let me know. Jill has a confirmation number somewhere.

Jill I hope this week is smooth for you too.... hope you get caught up.

After Christmas and New Year, I'm just ready to skip January and February and move right on into spring.

My knee and whole leg did better than in October, but there were a couple of times I overdid it and suffered the consequences. For the most part, we did things in spurts and rested in between, so overall I did very well. I can only look back on one time where I recall severe pain, and that's because I walked around all day and then went out until one o'clock in the morning with Drew to Magic Kingdom. I think I probably wasn't supposed to do that.

Whoever goes next will have to take a picture of Bo with a blanket, if it's cold. By the time we go again, we'll need to take him a beach towel and suntan lotion. :)

I meant to stop and get some oranges, since we were driving this time, but I forgot all about it. I know they're hosing them down right now to keep them safe.

i told ray earlier tonight that i was ready for spring. he just looked at me and said, "dawn, winter just officially started like 2 weeks ago." yeah....don't remind me. :sad2:

Yeah, Ray, we don't need your dismal reminder!

I'm completely out of groceries right now, so I have to go whether it snows or not. I did stop and get a gallon of milk yesterday. I'm trying to make the boys eat some of this stuff I already have before I go again, but they've pretty much got us down to the bare bones, so I better go on and stock back up today before the big rush tomorrow afternoon.

Hopefully we'll be having a big old SNOWED IN/SCHOOL'S OUT DIS PAJAMA PARTY all day Thursday!
:banana::dance3::yay:

I don't mind winter and the snow so much as long as temps stay in the 20's. I enjoy going sledding with the boys and love watching them get all dressed up in their snow gear and tromping around in the yard. It's this -10 degree temps with 20-30 below wind chills that I HATE!!! It is just bitter cold right now with no relief in the forecast.

I hate to say it but I hope there is not a snow day Thursday (although it looks like a possibility) I am only subbing 2 days this week and that is one of them and we've already used up our built in snow days so anymore means extending the school year past Memorial Day.

For all you people who never really get snow and want a snow day... Jackie the PJs go on inside out for snow days!

BTW I have one today, but feel lousy so I am not real happy about it!

That picture of Bo is a riot!!! Jackie: I hope Chelsea didn't see the ticker!

Hannah is home sick today and I'm going to have to run out to pick up her prescription and more tissues today. It's so cold though I don't want to go out. I am so ready for summer!

Really? But then, no one will be able to see my Mickeys.

I hope you feel better soon, Laura!

Hope the antibiotics make Hannah feel better!
