Ringing in 2010, 6 months til we'll be back again

We are approx 1,270 miles from Mall of America......20 hours driving time. I think if I told DH that we are all getting in the car for 20 hours to go to a DIs meet- he would think I was insane...then if I threw in the fact that it was at a Mall....the MALL to end all MALLS he would consider that grounds for divorce! :rotfl2:

My DS on the other hand has been begging me to take him to Mall of America and I would truly love to go myself ;) but cant fathom driving 20 hours anywhere ( well maybe I can think of one place :mickeyjum ) so with that I will have to wait until the sun, the moon and the start align- that should be about the time that DH says we can go back to Disney and hopefully be at the same time to have a wonderful dis-meet with all of y'all!

thanks so much, guys! i feel so loved! hopefully you won't have to wait too long.

We're all pulling for you. We'll have a cyber-shower around here when the time is right! :goodvibes

A little Dis break over the holidays and it's taken me a week to catch up! Should have made a quick post there and than when I realised how many pages I had to get through

Enjoying the report, especially love catching up with your Brooklyn/Bella pics and news, as I can't help but compare them to my two little princess: 6 months and 2.5 yrs. Oh yes, and comparing myself to Jill when I see photos of her carrying them both at once, or trying to jump in and stop the big girl dropping the little girl on the floor whilst they pose for more photos :rotfl:

Wish there could be a mega meet that stretched as far as us in the UK but maybe we'll catch up with some of you in WDW. We're booked for September

Aren't little girls awesome? Little boys, too. :thumbsup2
I do love little kids. They bring us much happiness.

Yeah, you are way over five hours away!

What are your dates for September? If they offer free dining I was thinking about a long weekend trip since we have our annual passes it would just be the cost of travel and the rooms. We might try and overlap your time if we do decide to go.

Is this along with a Mall of America trip? You must have a bundle of money, girlie!

We're there a whole two weeks :cool1:, arriving on the 3rd Sept and leaving on the evening of the 17th

Hope you can work out another trip, would be even better if our dates overlap and we can arrange a meet :)

Two weeks will be nice.

They have really changed the way they do free dining - but if you are able to go you can use the one day ticket you have to purchase (with the free dining package) to renew your AP. This was the first year we didn't book the bounceback free dining - I just wasn't sure I liked the changes. It's not such a good deal when you have to book a moderate to get the regular dining plan. We usually go in September and it is a great month to go!! The AP rates are great for a room only package!

September is pretty much out for me, with it being the beginning of the school year. Early October is about the best I can do, but I love October in Disney World, so that works for me. Jill can go whenever work lets her off until Brooklynn starts school.

I think I am back on track. And, Margot is your adorable niece, right? That is so neat that you and Erica met on the Dis. That is great that you and your DH are trying to get pregnant (although I know how it can get stressful) - my sister took one year to get pregnant with her first, but then her next two she got pregnant fast and easy. I will keep you all in my prayers.

And Margot and Bella were born within a week or so of each other.

I am finally caught up. Every time I catch up and stay caught up for a couple of days and then life gets busy again and I get behind all over again.

I am only 6 hours away from the Mall.

Darn real life. It is so annoying sometime.

Are you willing to travel that far for a meet?

I do! :yay::yay: I live about 40 minutes away from it! We take our kids there to see Santa every year- he is awesome! I would love to see a dismeet happen in my area!

Jill is talking about an October trip up there.

I'm not too far, about 4 hours or so. I'd drive that far to meet you all!

There could be a big meet brewing as we speak. :thumbsup2

I just saw a post on the Disney Storey Facebook page that has a list of the stores closing. The Cool Springs store is on the list as well as the Opry Mills store. :guilty:

You shall forever be known as the person who officially broke my heart! :sad1:
Now I really don't know where the closest one is. Memphis, I guess. The Opry Mills store was giving coupons for the Cool Springs store, and they said some of them were going out there to work, so I wonder when it is closing.

Don't worry, I'm pretty good at balancing fun and school :) I had the first part of my Spanish exam today and that went really well :yay:

Wish me luck on my economics presentation tomorrow...I hate oral presentations

I can't belive we're almost half way through the school year already  I only have another year and a half left of high school

Good luck for you.

Have you thought about doing the College Program at WDW?

Whoa! 'Up north' must be a really big place! When I think about all of you guys up above us, I just think of you all being with eight or ten hours of each other, but I guess I didn't give it much thought. I guess there is no good central location, huh?

Okay, then, you are all just invited to stop here on your way to Disney World whenever you are coming through. :goodvibes

I just looked it up...23 hours  It takes less time to get to Disney from here

Wowser!

Yeah & I'm in NH so I am even further!! Not even close.

My goodness, this is a big country! :rotfl:

Mall of America? You'll have to drive right by us to get there...and where I go to college is about 2 hours or so from there!

Wow MeMom Mall of America? How did you know that I've always wanted go there? My younger daughter went once with friend, they drove. If I go I'm flying! I would for sure love to come.
Oh yeah, I go to the Disney store in Memphis. It's not very big, but at least I can get a hint of Disney when I go.

It's a mere 713 miles, 11 hours and 13 minutes from here. I think we'll meet in Louisville, Disney or Nashville instead. ;)

Looks like we may have to do our Disney shopping there, as well, since they are closing BOTH of ours!

Oh, wait. As soon as I say that, they'll close that one, too!

9 hours and 42 minutes to the Mall of America, WOW!

How far to Nashville?

Yep, looks like Louisville, Disney, or Nashville for meeting up with the Mops! :)

I live 1300 miles and aprox 21 hours away from the Mall of America. You should come to Boston :)

I hope to make it to a lot of places one of these days. I'd love to see this country in person instead of just in pictures at school. :)

Probably not my first year of college, but yes! It sounds awesome! I also like the idea of spending a semester in my happy place ;)

It would probably be a great experience, and it would surely look good on any resume. You'd meet a lot of new people, too.

To Nashville? About 12 hours....
It's on one of Shocker's spring break routes!

You can drive here and then fly. You'd be there in less than two hours!

I am 19 1/2 hours away from Mall of America, and 10 1/2 hours from Nashville. Of course, I guess that when Google Maps figures out the time they don't account for rest stops and traffic! :confused3

I wanted to share a story, because it made me think of Brooklyn and her phone call to the Cracker Barrel lady. :)

At bedtime last night my daughter, Johanna, who is 3 1/2, told me, "Um, I can't talk to you right now because Tinkerbell just called me." and then she picked up her little toy phone to talk to Tinkerbell. :rotfl: Here is a picture of her:

That is from the first day of our WDW trip last January. I didn't have anything more recent in Photobucket.

Yeah, when Tinkerbell calls, you're just going to have to be put on hold. ::yes::

Maybe some day our trips will overlap and the two little divas can play together. They would probably have some very interesting conversations! :)

Buffalo NY-Mall of America
947 Miles, 14 hours 37 minutes. Patrick and I do want to visit there, but we would probably fly out.

To mall of America from London....about 986 KM, 12 hours and 46 minutes! Not too too bad. I was thinking longer! Only about 4 more hours than it takes to get to my family in Indiana!

NOOOOOO!!! I don't want that title!! :sad::sad::sad: I'm sorry. :hug: :flower3:

Sorry, friend. You did it. You squashed my one last hope of survival between Disney trips. I can already feel myself fading away minute by minute.

I'm going to call out there and see when they are closing. I hope they last a tiny bit longer so I can go again after the Opry Mills store closes. After they are both gone, I guess it's Memphis, Louisville, or Atlanta for us, and those will surely not be frequent. I'm just going to pray that if I am a really good girl, they'll open one of the new interactive ones with a reasonable distance, say OPRY MILLS, to us someday!!!

I can probably plan a couple of short Disney trips with what I'm going to save by not being near a Disney Store, though.

Why didn't they plop that sucker in the dead center of the U.S. so we could all get to it in the same time???

Let us know when you plan Indiana trips, and maybe you get to Louisville.
How'd you end up away from Indiana? A job?
