Has anyone done the ring carvers in MK (near POTC) or in EP (near Mexico)??? :confused3 I always have thought of doing this, but not sure, how much do they cost? Can you have anything engraved into it? Do they charge by the letter?? What is the quality? Anyone have picture???

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!! :goodvibes

I got one 2 years ago at Fort Wilderness by the Hoop de Doo building. I can't remember how they charge, but I got one with JJJ on it for my 3 sons with J names, & it cost around $25. It is my favorite ring other than my wedding ring. It has held up well. :goodvibes

I had a ring made in Epcot near Mexico with my two girls name on it. It is 10k gold and was around $250. It turned out great and I was to watch him make it.

I got my ring done at fort wilderness 5 years ago and lost it about two years ago. We went back to Disney last year and one of the first things I did was get another one. I purchased my second one at MK and I wear it everyday! The ring was $22 and I got my 3 letter initials so it was $3 more for a total of $25. I absolutely love it!! Next time I go I'll probably get another one!

We had several of them made and my wife loves hers. She needed to get a new one made and tried someplace different and didn't like it. She had to wait until we went again to disney to get a new one made. I'll get a pic for you tomorrow.:thumbsup2

I got a silver one in Mexico City about ten years ago and it cost like 30 cents. That was my favorite ring for a long time, but its long gone now.

My DH and I took a trip alone last October to celebrate my birthday. I purchased a gorgeous silver ring in Italy for one of my daughters and didn't know what to do for the other. DH recalled the Ring Carver in Mexico, but he was closed, so we trekked over to the MK and the Ring Carver next to Pirates was opened and carved my other DD's ring while we enjoyed the rest of the day in MK.
DD is 15 and Loves the ring. She polishes it up and it looks great. We paid $35 for it!!!!!!
That is DEFINITELY one of Disney's best budget secret souveniers!

I have a gold ring with my 3 initials. I got it around 10 years ago, wear it every day and it looks fine.

Both my boys bought rings last year...DS13 bought a silver eagle ring with his initials, one on each side. Really liked it but doesn't wear it much...more as a souvenier I guess. Younger brother, DS11 bought an icthas (Christian fish symbol) in silver & never takes it off!!

I think they were both in the $20--$25 range & still look great!!

We got this over at Pioneer Hall. We had another one made in Mexico but liked the one for Pioneer hall better. Here are some pics of one of them from a few years ago.

I think my wife wore it for a year straight before taking it off.

Wow!! Thank you all so much for the replies!! I'm definately have to look to get one this year!! So happy to know its in my price range too!!

Mariettadisney71, thanks so much for the pics! It looks GREAT!

Thank you everyone!! :goodvibes

Wow- this is new to me and one souvenir that I'll be looking for when I go!

Can you get this in kid sizes? We like to buy our daughter something special each trip & we couldn't think of anything this year. This may be a winner.

Hey tchrrx,
Yes you can, you will just be limited on the number of letters. We got one for our son and was able to put 4 letters. I'll have to see how much room there is left.

DD bought one of these in WS in Mexico on our trip in Nov 08. She had 8 (her entire first name) carved on her ring. There's a base price for the ring depending on type of metal you select (she chose St Silver), the width of the band, and the size of the ring itself. After the base price there is a per letter charge. Can't remember if you get the 1st three free and then pay for letter 4 or more. But DD thinks it was a per letter charge. She paid right around $30 for her ring incl the letter charges and tax. It is a cool souvie that is very different. We really liked the carver in Mexico. He didn't like the way her first one turned out so he redid it before we came back. We know this because when we got there, he told us it was going to take a little longer because he wanted to redo it and showed us the 1st one. It wasn't awful but probably not some of his better work. ;) I felt like he had a good work ethic that he didn't try to pawn a so-so quality ring on a young lady. :goodvibes

Oh, I want 1 for me and for each of DDs. I am switching my jewelry that I wear every day from gold to silver and my wedding ring is gold. This with mine and DHs initials would make a great silver wedding band.

I would love to get ones with each of my daughters name on them for myself. These are really nice. I will have to check them out this time.

Those are really neat! Can you stay there & watch them make it or is it done just at some point during the day? So far we have pictures of DD watching as her doll in Germany was made and as she picked a pearl in Japan & had it set. One of these rings would be a great addition. I assume this is inside the Mexican pyramid, right?

Yes you can watch them make it, the only issue is if there are rings in front of yours to be made. I'll have to wait. The one at PH was right outside the entrance to the hope-dee-do review. We put our order in, went to the show and then they were ready. The CM had to redo ours as well because of a typo and we were able to watch him make it.

I beleive the ring carver is at the gift shop in front of Mexico right by the fence over looking world showcase.
