Rihanna or Chris Brown??

I agree with you Caitlin.
Besides, women have a different away of abusing men. It's not quite bare hand to bare flesh.

And I'll also agree with Shelby, that picture should NOT have been released, it violates her rights on so many levels.
I'd like to say, this was taken before the bruises and stuff set in, it probably looked much worse.

Today is her birthday, and she's probably not celebrating it how she had hoped. I hope this case goes over well for her, and I wish her a happy birthday despite everything she's had/is going through.

I can't imagine how she must be feelings, & on top of that the media is all over this thing. I feel so bad for her.

And as for the woman/man abuse thing, I guess you could call it double standards if you wanted to. But I completely agree that a man should never physically hurt a woman. That's just a norm in today's society, and I hope it stays that way for while.

This is awful. It happening in the first place, the photos being leaked, and the way their fans are reacting.

I've heard many people say that Rihanna deserved what she got. :sad2:

- On a side note though; You guys are saying NOBODY should ever get it. Well, look at the way we view male/female roles. If in a movie, let's say, a woman slaps her husband for cheating on her & storms out of the room. Most people would be in support of them. But if a man slapped a woman for cheating on him, we'd yell 'domestic abuse' & want to put the guy in prison forever.

It's just interesting, the stereotypes and all.

You have to to think of the strength of a woman versus the strength of a man. A man is bigger than a woman. A man slapping a woman is much more likely to hurt her than a woman slapping a man. The force of the slap is harder when a man hits a woman.

A man has more potential to seriously injure a woman than a woman has to injure a man.

I don't think we will know the REAL truth until one of them (or both) speak out. The media can say whatever they want and should not be trusted.

Chris Brown has issued a statement saying he's really sorry for what he did, that he's seeking help from his family, and that a lot of what's being written was untrue. But because of legal issues, he can't speak of what's true and what's not.
I think it's the broken nose that's not true.
But from the statement he released, I just get the idea that he wasn't denying anything.

I just think that the strength of a man is something completely different than that of a woman. A woman slapping a man, even a woman pushing or shoving or punching a man, is something completely different than a man doing the same to a woman. No matter what, a man is (9 times out of 10)
MUCH stronger than a woman and able to do MUCH more physical harm.
Obviously domestic abuse goes both ways, but if say, Rihanna had slapped, even punched Chris instead of him beating her to the point of bruising, it would certaintly not be the same thing.
Simply because man slapping a woman is something COMPLETELY different than a woman slapping a man, always has, always will be, that's how our society is, and frankly, I'm not against that. Men are more threatening than women.

Yes I totally agree.

My dad says;

'They should throw him in a cage with a pissed off gorilla.'

Sounds about right. :goodvibes:
