I'm in a town in between major "shore" towns. While I see your point about the "benny bucks", it's not so much true in my town. We get the traffic, but less of the benefit.Hopefully NJ has a great rain-free summer so that all those benny bucks keep pouring into your communities. Those dollars support your stores (food vendors, gift shops, bars and restaurants) and many beaches charge an entry fee which goes directly to the community. As a resident of New York City, I am always happy to see and welcome all the tourists from all over the world that come into my city and support the business owners and the economy of the city.
I don't think the OP directed it at you. You know you're not one of the rude, obnoxious, entitled ones that come in. You have respect for the area and the people. Unfortunately, not everyone does.Sweet, I go to LBI all year long, I get it. I'm not trying to argue with you, I take exception to the OP calling me a stinkbug.![]()
Look at Seaside and Belmar -- so many problems in the summer that aren't there in the winter. There was just a stabbing in Seaside over the weekend. None of those involved were locals. Not to say there's no crime in the off-season, but it increases in the summer.
Some people (and this goes for everywhere) just have no respect.
You know what, it's all about the benjamins!
