Right now on loop 1500 at the Fort...

No sad, Rland, that's turning all good. We were just over at POP for a movie, it was an interesting place with a tasty food court and a beautiful walk at twilight over the bridge to Art of Animation, where our boys posed with every friend of Mater's.

If you go back over to the POP food court, try the hummus. It's very good! (Of course, my homemade is better.;))

I have enjoyed your posts about this trip. I went to the Fort with my parents the first year it was open---I think 1972?

Oh I WISH! Have taken tons, both for me, and with the thought of, what would/did I want to see when I was reading the board at home? But the closest I got was a trial post on the pet thread...and the photo links don't work, from my ipad, (what I am using) ....they just show a link instead of a photo.

Are you using the IMG code link to paste into your DIS posts? It's not the standard website link code. Photobucket (what I use) has an IMG link that you can copy in photobucket and simply paste it into your DIS thread as you are writing it.

That's nice that the kids chose to stay at the Fort for activities rather than return to the theme parks.

1503 is a nice site. You can walk right off the back of it across the road and bridge to the pool area.

Our Fort trips have evolved into basically a 1:1 ratio of Fort days to park days because we love hanging around the Fort too.

Enjoy the rest of your time and have a safe trip home.

Omgosh the little boy riding his bike! What an amazing memory to make!!!!

I cannot wait. We are staying in a cabin. DF travels for work and spends a lot of his time in a hotel or condo, so I didn't want his vacation to be reminiscent of work. He also works a lot in myrtle beach and is constantly dealing with crowds and traffic. I was hoping Fort Wilderness would be the perfect place and the more I read on here the more I know it is. Ironically, we are travelling to the NC mountains for vacation this year and my daughter, who has no idea the plans already being laid for next summer, asked me if we were staying in a cabin in the mountains. We are not and she is so pleased, apparently I never knew she doesn't like cabins! She thinks they are more likely to have bugs. I'm sure she won't mind Disney cabins tho!
