I'm getting ready to take the plunge with the rental car! I suppose it's time since my trip is June 3!! I wondered what the right combination is for the codes for National? I was going to go Dollar and will still check them out before I make my final decision, but everyone's talking about National's price drop. What are the best codes to use? I see you can use a 1. Product Rate Code, 2. Contract ID # plus a 3. Coupon ID #. Is the EA # a separate bonus as well? Any help would be appreciated. I would like to have a convertible and tried to put some codes in last night but it said something about being over the maximum number of days or something. HELP!!!:D

To get a good deal on a rental at National, you really have to play around with the codes and coupons. If you're renting for a week, you cannot use a "free weekend day" coupon. And many of the coupons exclude car classes that include convertibles. One coupon that I know works for all car classes is the Entertainment Book's "$20 off a weekly rental" coupon.

The Emerald Club is not a separate code. It has its own contract ID number but the members do not have to use it just to get Emerald Aisle perks. The advantage of using the EA, is that you can reserve an intermediate size car but choose any car on the EA lot when you arrive. You still pay for only the intermediate rate. However, the chances of finding a convertible on the EA lot are pretty slim.

Mousesavers has a great list of available contract ID #s. Mary also has some product rate codes that would be good during your time but they cannot be applied to convertibles. Here's a link to the page:

Good Luck!

Does each ent. book have it's own number or is it one number someone can share and I can get the book later?

Check out rentalcodes.com , they have codes for all the car comapnies. They have some pretty good deals. Good Luck and make sure you check back every so often after you make a reservation because the rates tend to go down as the rental time gets closer.

There are a number of discount coupons inside the Entertainment Book. Each coupon has a different code and conditions. To post all of them here would take a lot of typing and might not be within the board's guidelines since the coupon codes are not for everyone's use, only for those who have purchased the Entertainment Book.

You might be able to find a code that suites your needs posted on the transportation board. There's a thread called
Post Your Car Rental Dates and Rates . A lot of contract id/coupon codes/product code combinations are listed there.

I found a SCREAMING DEAL on AVIS, using my Enterainment guide.

We always book with AVIS but they seemed really high this year. We are going for 13 days in June and we were able to rent a Premium car for $337. total

I'm not so knowledgeable about all of this, but I did some poking around today. I don't have an Entertainment book. The best deal I found today for 11 days in May was at National. I was able to book a full-size for a total (including taxes/fees) of $261.78 using a contract id#/coupon id from Mousesavers. Is that a good enough deal or should I try for something better?

Is their a "Resort Rate Thread"??
Thanks!

Now that would be "The Thread That Never Ends..."!!!

Actually, the Universal Resorts Board has a sticky at the top with "Date and Rate for 2004?", but Universal has only 3 hotels and even that thread is hard to follow.

There's usually a "code watch" and a "post your dates and rates" thread on the Disney Resorts Board everytime there is a new offer. With a new code or codes set to come out at the beginning of May, you can expect to see that popping up soon.

And, of course, there's always MouseSavers - Disney World Resorts Discounts Page . Mary does a great job of keeping up on codes, who can use them and gives examples of what kinds of rates people are getting.
