I will be staying on WDW property and saw where lynx serves the tttc. How reliable is the bus service?

A few years back, my DD and I used it to go to Seaworld. It was great--cheap and very easy. The bus stop was right across the street from the SW entrance. It was nice to let someone else do the driving at the end of the day without it costing me a fortune. :-). I found all needed info and cost on the Lynx website.

We also used it to go to Seaworld. Caught the bus at Downtown Disney in a huge parking lot behind Pleasure Island. They dropped us off that night right at the main entrance to Downtown Disney. Very easy and they were right on the dot as far as times they quoted. This was awhile ago, but we thought it was great.

We are going to SeaWorld next month and interested in using Lynx transportation. Trying to get everything together before we go so I'll know which bus from DTD to get on and which bus to get on from Seaworld headed back to DTD. Which bus # for each? Where does the bus pickup from at DTD? Does it pickup at the same spot from Seaworld where it drops off?
Will my resort have the pickup times?
TIA

Go online to the Lynx website and you will find all of the info that you need. It was very easy to figure out bus numbers, times, and stops. Yes about Seaworld stop--we were dropped off and picked up at the same spot.

You want the Lynx 50. It stops at both the TTC (I think it's bay 29 in the charter lot) and across the street from the DTD Marketplace area. The DTD stops are located across Buena Vista Drive from the DTD Disney Resort bus stops area.

To get to Sea World from Downtown Disney catch the 50 from the stop across the street from DTD. It's located on the Sun Bank/Hess side of Buena Vista Drive near the intersection with Hotel Plaza Blvd. You'll exit the bus at the stop at the Renaissance SeaWorld on Sea Harbor Drive. I think it's the second stop after the bus turns onto Sea Harbor. Whatever you do, don't miss the last stop on Sea Harbor-the bus will not stop again until it reaches the main terminal downtown!

On return to WDW you'll exit at the intersection of Buena Vista Drive and Hotel Plaza Blvd across the street from DTD.

I'm nor sure what the current state of the Disney stops at DTD is. If the Marketplace Stop is closed Lynx 50 also stops at the transfer area just beyond La Nouba.

Hope that wasn't too confusing!

I've been on the website and to me it is very confusing. unless I am looking at the wrong thing.

Ok, We will be taking the bus from Pop Century to DTD. Which direction will we need to go toward after we are dropped off? Also, are the Lynx buses like the Disney buses and announce the location of where they are about to stop at? Will we take the bus 50 on the way back from Seaworld to DTD and do they pickup from Seaworld where they drop off? Sorry for all the stupid questions but trying to get a visual picture of where we need to be before we go.

TIA

We took the Lynx bus from the T&TC to Sea World in 2012. The bus ride was about 45-60 minutes. I was a little nauseous by the time we got to the Sea World stop due to the musty cigarette smell on the bus (there were a lot of non-tourists on the bus, obviously, many of whom would be smoking when the bus pulled up before they got on) and that the seat backs are higher than on Disney busses so I had to look out the side windows instead of in front of us. But it was cost effective.

You can't miss the stop if you keep an eye out. There's Sea World signs everywhere around you and you're right next to the Sea World parking lot (and can see the tower and rollercoasters in the distance). It is a bit of a walk across the parking lot (I wasn't sure if there was going to be a closer stop so we got out at the one next to the parking lot because I didn't want to have to go around again!), but it was manageable.

We ended up taking a taxi back to our resort since we were going to MVMCP that evening and we were running late on time.

Right on the home page there's a box that says "plan your trip." You put in the appropriate locations and it will tell you what bus numbers you'll take.

Keep in mind that Lynx is the Orlando city bus system. It is set up for locals, not tourists, so if you're not particularly familiar with how city bus systems work you may be better off just spending the money on a cab.

Even though we boarded at the T&TC, we did stop at DTD later before going to Sea World. This is the area where the public transportation (and I imagine all non-Disney busses) busses stop (sorry it was the best aerial photo I could find and I realize it's an older photo, but hopefully that helps you with what general direction to go):

When you get off at DTD the stop is off to your right as you face the DTD Resort Hotels area with your back to DTD. You'll have to exit the Disney bus area and walk across the DTD parking lot to the light-controlled crosswalk near where Buena Vista intersects with Hotel Plaza Blvd. To your left you'll see where Buena Vista intersects with Hotel Plaza Blvd. and curves around toward Saratoga Springs, to your right it runs toward Typhoon Lagoon. Cross the street-the stop is on Buena Vista (same side as the bank and Hess station) before you reach the intersection at Hotel Plaza Blvd.

The SeaWorld stop is at the Renaissance SeaWorld. Exit the bus, and make your way through the SW parking lot to the park gates. The taller attractions in the park will be visible from the stop. Make your way toward the "lighthouse" and you'll get to the entrance.

To return to Disney head back across the parking and catch the bus near the Renaissance. You'll board at the stop across Sea Harbor Drive from the one where you exited the bus that morning. The nearest stop to the DTD resort buses is ON Hotel Plaza Blvd where it meets Buena Vista and before it crosses through the intersection. Exit there and cross Buena Vista Drive to DTD.

I believe the buses to SeaWorld are titled "Downtown". Buses returning to WDW are marked "Magic Kingdom". Only the major/timing stops are set. For both the SeaWorld and DTD stops you will have to notify the driver that you want off by pulling on the cord that runs along the bus windows. I have always found the drivers to be helpful if you let them know where you'd like to go.

I hope this helps, I'm terrible with directions (dyslexic) and could easily walk there but am having trouble describing it clearly!

Maybe my picture is wrong then? :confused3 That's where it stopped 2 years ago, but apparently with all the construction its been moved. And this is why I'm a taxi girl :lmao:. I confuse easily.

The area behind Cirque is a major transfer point for Lynx but it's quite a hike from the Resort bus stops. I think Lynx stop near the Marketplace area is a shorter walk but I'm definitely not an expert and not up to date with which DTD Disney Resort bus stops are open at the moment with all of the construction. I stay offsite on Palm Parkway quite a bit and use the Lynx 50 to go to both DTD and SeaWorld when I do. The route I gave is the one I use.

ETA: The stops I referenced are both across the street from DTD and close to the Marketplace Disney buses.
