Ridiculous Question - Anyone know Dimensions of an Epcot Garbage Can lid ?

Real nice, JC, thanks for sharing the results, along with this year's idea. Looks great!!! Enjoy.

OMG - HOW did I miss this thread last year?! I went to F&W for the first time last fall and participated in our inaugural trash can top dining experience. I hope to collect enough experiences to be inducted into the club someday. Those pictures are fantastic and the MADS is genius. If/when we ever get to F&W without kids, I'll be better prepared. (This will, undoubtedly, include some non-Disney language to come forth from the general vicinity of my sewing machine, too.)

Lol. That would be too easy. She did that last trip (using a great gingham red and white cloth napkin they sold in the French gift shop). This year, she wants an 'upgrade'.

She's got dreams of one that draps over the lid (leaving the the garbage completely accessible to any other guests, of course), and has pockets to keep plasticware and napkins (so they don't blow away). Also wants it weighted down on the ends, so no change of the tablecloth blowing away.

I wouldn't be surprised if a small vase of flowers or a potpourri bowl appears. I don't fight it anymore - just go with the flow.

Thats super funny and super cute. I hope you both find a solution and have a nice trip!

your garbage can tablecloth is phenomenal...! FWIW, I would totally eat off a disney garbage can, without a second thought.

This just sounds so gross to me. No way would I put my food that I will be eating on top of a trashcan at Disney. I don't care if there is some sorta napkin inbetween. All the people, all the germs, all the gross stuff are literally centimeters away from my food that I will be putting in my mouth. That is just plain nasty and people wonder why people get sick at Disney. It is because of stuff like this!!

I missed this thread the first time - love it!!! But this particular post reminded me of a post from last year where someone mentioned eating at Flame Tree BBQ and watched a couple change their baby on the table next to them.

So garbage cans may actually be safer - don't think they're big enough to change a baby on.....

Tragedy struck yesterday - some clod in stroller parking leaned on the articulated arm supporting the tray on my drinking stroller and bent it severely. It lists now, so you have to drink 1/4 of your wine glass before putting it on the tray.

I saw this thread on page 1 and didn't realize it was a 2013 post until I had read nearly all of the hilarity. . . . I don't even know how to describe my vast amusement in the fact that
A) this question got asked
B) this question got answered helpfully - several times - in great detail!
C) the strongly held positions held by DISers on Hobo Etiquette
D) someone remembered it from months ago and asked the OP to update
E) OP came back. . . With pictures. . . And a new prototype!

Jcvalenti, I love your sense of humor and am terribly sorry to hear about the damage to model 3.0 - hope your trip is amazing!

Long live the DIS! If laughter truly is the best medicine, I can cancel my health plan!:rotfl2:

Oh man, this thread again, yay! I can't wait to see where this goes. I'd like pictures of people's epcot trash can table cloths.

Ha - glad to see this old thread resurrected. It's the best I ever started :)

I'm getting some photos and video together from last year's trip (to get ready for our July trip) - I need to find the night time photos of my sweet modified adult beverage stroller all lit up with my LED runners. That thing was fantastic - now if only I could get back to Food & Wine, I'd never need to hunt for a garbage can again !

At least you aren't trying to find a shady bench anywhere.

Apparently you aren't allowed to sit in WS anymore.

It's a DIS classic. Sure to be resurrected any time someone mentions the loss of more benches in the parks. :)

Funny that this thread has made an appearance. When we were at Epcot on Saturday for F&G we had to use the trashcans in a few of the countries. Not only was there no where to stand/sit but the lack of shade was almost unbearable as well.

And yes! There were some countries where a garbage can was impossible to find.

Did you ever post instructions for your amazing beverage holding contraption? I'm about to look through 10 pages of comments, but thought I'd ask first.

I "watched" this thread so long ago that I can't remember if he does, but this thread is so awesome, you have to read it all anyways.

Annnnnnd, save! Adding this thread to my favorite Disney folder. Now the story of the grandma who lost her swimsuit on a TL slide won't be all alone in there.
