I remember on our last trip to Disney, January 2002, I witnessed a lady take her baby on the It's a Small World Ride. I was just wondering if there were any other rides that a baby or small toddler can go on? If anyone has any info on this it would be greatly appreciated.

Oh my gosh, there are lots of rides.

It's a Small World
Peter Pan's flight
Pirates of the Caribbean (depending on age, it might be frightening)
Dumbo
Magic Carpets of Aladdin
Cinderella's Golden Carrousel
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Tomorrowland Transit Authority
WDW Railroad

Even the Haunted Mansion - but again, if the toddler may get frightened if he/she is 2 and over.

Just about all of the shows (however, loud noise may be a factor). This year with our 8 month old, I got ear plugs for the loud shows.

Generally the only attractions not suitable for small children are the ones with height requirements. Some have warnings if there are loud noises or intense/frightening special effects. Around 80% of all WDW attractions are suitable for all ages (1-100).

We'll be traveling in late September when DD#2 will be 6 months old. I was thinking about the only ride she would go on would be It's a Small World. Are there any other rides suitable for that young of an age? This trip is mainly for DD#1 who will be 4.

As for the shows, has anyone had success with trying to get an infant to wear ear plugs? Is it safe? And where would you even buy them?!

Thanks for any help!

Two years ago, we took our 6 month old on Small World, Journey to the Imagination (?), and the Pooh ride. He did fine. I think we also took him through the Haunted Mansion, but I'm not sure. He really enjoyed the Beauty and the Beast show. We did not have ear plugs, but we sat where it wasn't too loud.

Our six month old was actually pretty content to sit in the stroller or Baby Bjorn and look around.

We took a 7 month old and she rode everything that didn't have a height requirement! She loved everything--they are too young at that age to be afraid of things that older kids will be afraid of. Try everything with a little one--they'll let you know if they've had enough! I don't recall anything being too loud for her then, either. Now this last trip was different--3 1/2 and everything was too loud for her! I had my hands over her ears at every show!

When we first brought our DS4 (he was 5 months old). The noise didn't bother him, BUT after 2 days, he was over stimulated! This was with taking breaks back at the hotel and everything. All the lights/sounds/people noise got him over stimulated. By this I mean, he stayed up ALL NIGHT LONG crying (which wasn't at all normal for him). After that, we avoided anything loud and with too many light effects.

That's why in my original post I mentioned ear plugs. This last trip with our DS 8months, if we didn't have the ear plugs, then we would cover his ears and/or eyes during stimulating effects.

Didn't have the problem this trip (phew).

The earplugs I mention are like putty. They are soft and won't harm baby's ear. Best to check with your doctor.

Our babes rode everything (without height requirements...)!

These were their ages:
Trip 1 - 18 months
Trip 2 - 2 1/2 and 8 months
Trip 3 - 4, 2 and 10 months

The little ones loved everything -- happy int he stroller lookign around, happy in the Baby Bjorn looking around...

We rode:
MK
It's a Small World
Peter Pan
WInnie the Pooh
Haunted Mansion
Snow White
Buzz Lightyear
Jungle Cruise
Pirates of the Carribean
Keel boats
Dumbo (in Baby Bjorn because I was afraid of wiggling & falling out)
Tikki room
Country Bears
Astro Orbiter (trip 3)
Aladin (trip 3)

EPCOT
boat ride in Mexico
boat ride in Norway

AK
Safari ride
the smaller dino ride
Lion King show
train to Rafiki's Watch
animal walking trails
tough to be a bug

MGM
great movie ride
3-d muppet movie
playhouse disney
Voyage of the little mermaid

And more....there's plenty for the WHOLE family to enjoy!!!

We didn't have problems with the dark or loud noises, but if a baby fell asleep in the stroller or Baby Bjorn, I'd skip the show or ride while my DH took the older one(s). I'd look ina gift shop for a few minutes or sit on a bench.

It was a great family vacation -- very easy with a little one. And don't forget to check out the Baby CHanging centers in each park - great for a break (AC, toys for siblings, changing tables, rocking chairs, microwave, baby items for sale (pacifiers, diapers, food, etc...everything you could need!).

Have an awesome vacation!!

Thanks everyone for the info. My DS will 10 months old this trip and my DD is 5. I'm sure it will be fun for everyone.

I'd also like to thank everyone! I really was not expecting to go on very much with the baby, but now I think I'll have to give it a try, as long as baby seems happy! ;)

Thanks again!
