I'm sure that this is subject to change daily but just an FYI to all of you super planners like me....don't plan too much for the 2 universal parks b/c the rides don't always open at the same times & it's not published in the park map/show times schedule that I saw.
we went to ioa last fri, 3/23 & US on mon, 3/26. At ioa, flying unicorns didn't open til 11 & even then we waited until 11:15 before we gave up, still not open (we returned at 1 w/ about a 10 min wait).
the seuss trolley was only running 1 train in the a.m. which broke down for about 10 min. we then rode & loved it! the other train was possibly going to run from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. but no promises according to the CM there. that CM said that many workers were off that day b/c they had worked long hours the week before for spring break. it was highly noticeable....from CMs who run the rides to security (many more security officers were noticed on mon on the moving walkways & throughout the parks).
other examples included 1 fish, 2 fish - opened at noon (MINUS THE WATER-not running, which drove me nuts after a 40 min. wait at 1:15) - a real bummer! earthquake @ 10, Jaws @ 11, first shows at noon for Barney & the Animal show - in the past, Barney started at 11 & the list goes on.
one can say that it's based on attendance but it really looked like there weren't enough CMs like the CM at Suess Trolley indicated.
i would say that we still got a lot done between 9-11 a.m. so it was worth it to get there at opening & that the parks really don't get crowded until noon. i'm just letting you know that all of the rides open at different times. Maybe this information is at Guest Relations on the morning of? it wasn't a major problem for us but it was a little bit of an inconvenience to run up to a ride w/ little kids only to find out that it's not open til noon. we had to do a lot of back-tracking but it gave us an opportunity to really relax & take a good look at our surroundings so it worked out. sometimes it's best not to overplan!
