Rides that close in the rain

I will be in DL/DCA on Saturday, February 28th for just one day. As of now (I know it can change), Accuweather is predicting showers during the day. I honestly don't mind that; I live in San Francisco and foggy, cold drizzle is how I roll.

But I'm also going specifically to catch up on some rides I haven't done yet, particularly in DCA. Does anyone know which rides in DCA close when it rains? That would help me determine where I should go first or when the rain stops.

(In DL, the only rides I haven't already been on that I want to try are Haunted Mansion, It's a Small World and Tiki Room, so I should be all right there.)

TIA

Thanks so much for the thread!

Fortuntely, RSR is one I've ridden before, so I can skip that. The rides in DCA I'm missing are the PP ones (Zephyr, Jellyfish, Silly Symphony, GSS - not sure how I missed all those on my last trip), Tower of Terror, Mater's and then the three interior DL ones I mentioned earlier. So, I'll probably head to the Zephyr and ones around it first, if the rain hasn't started.

I've got about eight hours in the park, so hopefully I'll be able to do everything, rain or no.

The Silly Symphony Swings were open while it was raining last time I rode them, but you still may not want to ride. It started raining in the middle of our ride and the rain felt like it was blowing directly into our faces. I couldn't open my eyes because it stung and I felt like I was practically choking on it! We were totally soaked when we got off, it was awful but hilarious.

We will be there that day too. It will be my son's first day there. Hopefully the rain doesn't make it any less magical!! Not sure what we will ride if dumbo etc are closed. :(

There's definitely a list of rides you don't want to do in the rain. I remember loving BTMRR when I was younger, but when I rode it again in the rain as an adult, it felt like I was being slapped by ice. Maybe because I'm taller now, I'm not sure. And probably the most miserable I've been was on IASW. Waiting to unload from the boat, outside in the rain. The seat became a puddle, and the raindrops were bouncing off the water and into the boat. Not fun.

My family and I will be there March 1. I live 90 minutes away, so not as big of a deal, but still...Anyway, from what I'm seeing so far, it looks like a 50% chance of showers or less. Weather.com has it as only a 10% chance of rain and wunderground.com, which I find to be most trustworthy, won't have a real forecast for next weekend for a few days. The last time it was "suppose to" rain, we had a beautiful 73 degree day until about 3PM. So, who knows?

Anyway, we go in the rain a lot. Most of the outdoor rides (so most of the ones you want to hit) have the potential of going down. I'd recommend getting there as early as possible. At least based on the current forecasts, it looks like the rain will probably hit later in the day, though of course that can change by then--So Cal's 50% chance isn't the same as Nor Cal's 50%. In Nor Cal (I used to live in Santa Cruz), 50% is almost definitely rain. Here, it's more like...well, it might rain, if we're lucky, but we should bring shorts and a raincoat because who knows?
