So this is our first time back in a few years. The kids are excited to do Hagrid's and the VelociCoaster. I hate roller coasters with drops, but I love the simulated rides. I enjoyed Gringotts and Forbidden Journey on our last trip but we didn't do much outside of the Harry Potter stuff. This time, I want to do everything fun that is not a roller coaster. What should I put on my list?

The only real roller coasters are Rip Ride Rocket, Hulk, Velocicoaster, and Hagrids.

That said, I suggest trying Hagrids if you are a Harry Potter fan, and probably even if you aren't. If Gringotts wasn't outside your comfort level, Mummy should be fine (if it will be open).

Note that you will be SOAKED on the Popeye raft ride and Dudley Do-right flume, and plan accordingly.

Thanks!! What about Fast & Furious. Men in Black, King Kong?

I don’t do roller coasters or anything with a drop and loved all of the motion simulator rides we got to go on at Universal when we were there a few weeks ago. Men in Black is where you are in a vehicle trying to shoot at aliens and it sometimes spins. I think it is similar to a few rides that Disney has like Buzz and Toy Story Mania but have never been on those. Fast and Furious is where you are in a party bus ride vehicle and there are screens with a little motion. Did not get a chance to do Kong. For the Simpsons ride it is not an actual roller coaster but part of it has a simulation of one. Just wanted to let you know in case that will bother you. We also enjoyed ET (slow ride like Peter Pan), MIB, Simpsons, Minions, Fast & Furious, Transformers, Racing Through New York, Forbidden Journey, and the Hogwarts Express both ways. Also saw some shows (animal actors, horror makeup, and Bourne Spectacular), and the holiday parade plus the nighttime cinematic spectacular at Universal and the nighttime projections on Hogwarts Castle at IOA.

ET hands down. I don’t do roller
Coasters but can handle mummy. Kong, Hogwarts train, Spider-Man, men in black, all the rides in seussland, and ALL the shows like
Makeup, animal and Bourne.

I can’t handle Simpsons but always make my son go on twirl ahurl (aka dumbo). I don’t love transformers so I usually people
Watch while they go on.

I really like Kong, MiB is fun, Fast and Furious is okay.

The only rides I personally skip are the typical amusement park rides like Teacups & One fish Two fish. Other than those sorts, I think it is worth trying all the rides if you have time. Then you can form your own opinions. Most of the rides put you into a story and they're all worth experiencing at least once.

I'm not a coaster fan either. I love Forbidden Journey, but that's about my limit for ride intensity. Gringotts is too intense for me. I didn't like the speed or the parts that were in almost pitch black dark. Men In Black is great, as are King Kong, and MinionMayhem. I like Race Through New York, but some people really hate it. ET is a simple enjoyable classic. Unless you or someone you are traveling with is a huge fan of the franchise, skip the Fast and Furious ride. I found it dissapointing. The Hogwarts Epxress was fun. The Simpsons ride is only enjoyable for me if I am in the first row of the ride car. All of the live shows I have seen in the park are great.

How does that compare to the drop in Gringotts?
The drop on Hagrid’s is a free fall vertical drop where the track itself drops.
The drop on Gringotts, where the track tilts forward and then the train is released, is a more typical coaster drop, but it’s also not very high or fast. The anticipation as the track tilts, though, scares some people.

Thanks so much for all the replies! My kids and husband did Hagrid’s twice but I sat out. We all did: Forbidden Journey, Gringotts, Spider-Man, Transformers, Jimmy Fallon, King Kong, ET, and Hogwarts Express of course. DH and the kids also did the Velocicoaster several times, Hulk, and Mummy. They were on line for Rip Ride Rocket but it shut down. They also rode Fast and Furious but said it was lame. None of us were interested in getting soaked so we skipped everything water related. It was a fabulous trip and only really got busy today. This morning the kids were able to make it to the front of the line for Hagrid’s at Rope drop. But when we left this evening, it was absolutely PACKED. Thanks again :-)
