We have been to WDW many times! Next summer we will make our first trip to DL and DCA. The big draw for us is Cars Land. Gotta go enjoy Cars Land while our boys are still young. :)

Our plan originally was to hit all of the rides at DL and DCA that can only be found there, but as I have started to plan I have read several comments that some of the rides that are at both DL and WDW such as PPF and PoC are actually better at DL. What do you think? Which rides at DL should we not skip just because we have done them at WDW?

Thanks so much! :daisy:

Pirates in DL is a million times better than wdw. Please don't skip it. Splash in DL IMO is awful. Wdw wins that contest hands down. Wdw is my home park, but this wdw vet was blown away by what DL and CA had to offer.

Seriously, once you ride PoTC at DL you'll be spoiled. It's nearly twice as long, and just better.

My boys are will be 17,13 and 10 and we are going back to DL next year because we missed CarsLand by 1 week this June. I really don't think any of the duplicated rides are the same experience. Even the Tea Cups have a different feel because there is no cover on the enclosure.

Any chance Space Mountain is smoother at DL?:goodvibes

DW and I went to DL this past August. This was our first trip to DL together. I thought Space Mountain was so much smoother at DL than MK.

I also like Splash Mountain over at DL just a little better as well. I don't know if it was because of the way you sit separately as opposed to side by side.

I agree with those that said PoTC is better at DL to.

Space Mountain is better at DL
It's a Small World is way better at DL (it blows IaSW at WDW away like in my opinion when i went to wdw on IaSW i was very disappointed in the ride and how it looked)
PoTC is way better at DL.
Space Mountain is better.
I also prefer BTMRR at DL (I remember there being one at WDW...)
ToT, honestly I couldn't tell that much of a difference between the two. I like them both equally.

I like Space Mtn, POTC, BTMRR and IASM MUCH better at DL. I actually like Splash better at WDW because I hate drops and the lap bar makes me feel more secure :confused3
I also like DL's Buzz Lightyear better.

And most people disagree with me, but I like DCA's Tower of Terror better.

I agree with you ... WDW's queue is better but the ride "Feels" better at DCA ... it's just more fun with the sound effects and narration in the elevators.

Can you tell me why you think it's awful? I'd heard that the WDW version was so much better than the DL one from lots of sources but when I tried it I didn't see much of a difference to be honest. :confused3 I want to know what people think is better in WDW.
But Splash Mountain is one of my very favourite rides so maybe I'm just a bit blind to the flaws and excited to be riding.

These postings make me so excited for our first trip to DL in July. Like our time at the WDW parks we will try to to do all the attractions..repeats & all:goodvibes I know my DH will very happy that Space Mountain is a lot smoother at DL because MK's Space Mountain is tough on the head & back.

I am so excited to hear that Space Mountain is smoother. Yay! But now I am beginning to wonder if 2 days will be enough time to do both DL and DCA. :confused3

No one is going to say two days are enough time... That's equivalent to saying 4 days is enough at WDW!

2 days is definitely NOT enough time for both parks.

As for the rides, I agree with everyone else that IASW in Disneyland is sooooo much better. And the facade itself is magical this time of year.

Buzz Lightyear at DL is heads and tails above WDW version. You can pick up your gun, and there are differently shaped targets to hit.

I like Splash Mountain at Disneyland better. My whole family does.

And Peter Pan is better at Disneyland, but has no fastpass.

It was like splash mountain on speed. You go through everything so quickly it's hard to enjoy. The ride is much longer in wdw. I honestly got off and was angry as that is one of my favorite rides as well.

Personally other than movie based attractions, do not skip any ride just because they have it on both costs. Each ride is different, if only slightly, from its counterpart.
