I remember very well how amazed you both were by that performance when you told us about it the next day! It's great to read about it now and see the pictures.

I am so sorry that restaurants seem to want to get rid of the dishes you like best. What a disappointment! But I do like the interior of the House of Blues as one can see in the picture of you and Jonathan at your table. I am actually hoping to go there for a meal on my trip - but I don't like shrimp so the menu update won't be so bad for me...

Sounds like a great night at the House of Blues. That's awesome that Rachel got the opportunity to play there. I looked at her set list...some great older songs in there, perfect for the venue.

Bummer about the shrimp dish no longer being on the menu...and just when I find out about it!

Ok, I'm starting to think that I shouldn't dine with you. Between Italy and HoB, every dish you like gets immediately removed from the menu. At the very least, just stick with the seafood stuff so I'm not in danger of losing anything on my list.

Looks like the meal was nice and the concert sounds great! I'm glad everything went so well and you could enjoy the company of fellow DISers.

man you just cant catch a break on that meals....can i request something...never make a reservation at ohana, or whispering canyon, i like there menus and dont want you to go and get them changed

you can however make a reservation at pinochios village hut, didnt care for there menu much at all.

Wow, what an amazing update, Marv! Thank you so much for sharing a very special evening. Love the photos, especially of the group ...though I am hopeless at trying to match names and faces in photos.

I hear you about places changing the menu. I know you were disappointed that night. I was sleeping off the peas from WPE chicken alfredo.

Yes, we both had a bad Disney dining experience that night. But unlike you, I didn't get sick over it.........

Our meal was still good when we returned, but without the Voodoo Shrimp, I will have to have a good reason to go back instead of searching for any excuse.........

I actually found the recipe on the internet, but there are a couple of special ingredients I might not be able to find nearby, and I'm not sure I could do it justice...........but it might be worth a try one day. They also used their own special recipe for cornbread (Rosemary I think, but that didn't sound too difficult).

I HAVE eaten at Whispering Canyon. I wonder if that is why they recently changed the menu???

Actually, good to have you stop by petals, and yes it was a wonderful time. You would have had a blast with the rest of us I'm sure!!!

Now, let's see if I can do a little better job with who is in the group picture.....

I will start with Judy's (blessedmom4) family - on the back row on the left are her two sons David and Christian. In front of them on the center row left is Pete, Judy and Rachel (should recognize Pete and Rachel from the pics on stage performing). In front of Judy on the bottom row is her daughter Lisa. It was her MAW trip they were on while they were there.

On the back row again, beside Christian, is Lisa (mommy2mrb) and on the middle row beside Rachel is Lisa's daughter Megan (in white). And yes, there are two "Lisa's" in the picture, which I'm sure can be confusing........

Finishing with the back row, beside Lisa is the one and only Mr. Marv, and beside me on the end is Crissy (smileycrissy). Center row on the end, in front of Crissy, is Michelle (lovethattink) and on the bottom row the handsome young man is Michelle's son Anakin.

Hopefully that clears up who is who...........or maybe I only made it clear as mud???

Well, it won't be anytime soon but the next trip an ADR at O'Hana for dinner will probably be first on my list. Next would be breakfast at Boma, neither of which I have ever done!

I read the HOB update shortly after you posted it and am just now saying I LOVED IT!!! I was THRILLED to meet Marv, I had NO IDEA until just before Lisa's MAW trip that we were going to meet Mr MARV~elous! He had been lurking over on our PTR unbeknownst to me! He had been making plans with my DIS sis LisaB! We were THRILLED to have him and Jonathan join us that night and honestly my only regret of the night is that Jonathan isn't in any of the pics! (Well, and the sound guys ).

Maybe my second regret was that pic of me ...LisaB had ordered me a strawberry daiquiri while I was in the bathroom with Rachel...I hadn't had an alcoholic drink in many years, they just cost too much when you are on a budget, so that was a nice (shocking obviously) treat for me! Thanks for not posting any unflattering pics of me friend!

Minnie&Nana I see you are from NC some of the time? Marv tells me all the time not to tell how nice he is...I can't help it, I him and he IS a great (Kind hearted guy)...okay live THAT down my friend!

I love seeing Marv's thoughts on how the night went and seeing it through his eyes...it was a soothing thing for me to know it really DID come off as a great show!

Just to prove my youngest daughter has some of those performance genes, I thought I would post a video of Lisa and Rachel from April 6...and you can finally hear Pete actually play Marv!
