Really basic question but I can't remember. We don't want to watch Fantasmic this time and we have two days planned at Epcot both when Illuminations is on but obviously we only want to see it once. Will the ride stay open during these?

Thanks, K x

Everything shuts down as soon as Illuminations starts (except at EMH) but I have seen the Character Spot stay open. Illluminations is only 13 minutes long so it doesn't give much time to do anything.

Thanks. Is it the same for Fantasmic too then?

No idea, I don't go to Fantasmic. I am assuming that if a Fantasmic show begins at the same time as the park's official closing time, then you won't be allowed to enter any attractions after that time. There are often two shows and the first one may be during regular park hours.

Bottom line is Illuminations always starts at park "closing". Fantasmic has shows before and after "closing".

When the park closes the lines close but those in line still get to ride.

We've been on Test Track during Illuminations, so I'm not sure when it technically shuts down. It was REALLY cool coming out the doors onto the outdoor track and seeing fireworks!

Of course, that was a few years back, and it might've been EMHs.

Simplest way to state this is not to even consider Fantasmic!, IllumiNations (or Wishes) into the equation.

On regular hours (non-PM EMH) evenings,
the ride entrances will close to further guest entry at the time posted as closing time.
Doesn't matter when or if the evening spectacular is scheduled.

Last summer, there was something going on where the Land Pavilion was open until 9:30. Some sort of refurb maybe. It was not well know, but I remember stopping in during illuminations and riding Soarin twice because there was no line and it was open. can't recall the details right now.

But anyway, that doesn't apply now anyway, so as people said, the lines close at closing time and those in line get to ride.

Thanks for everyone's answers. It was just because we wondered if you could still go on rides instead of watching the shows.

Just make sure you get in line before the park closes and realize its the last ride of the night.
