Rides ok for 6-month-old?

Our DD will be 6 months old on our next Disneyland trip. Just wondering on what rides (if any) you were able to bring a child that age. I'm thinking she'd be ok on the train, and maybe IASW. You know, "gentle" rides. We'll have family with us to watch the baby while we ride most rides. I would hate to bring her on something and have her scream the whole time, making other riders miserable!

Any Fantasyland, kiddie-type rides your little one was ok riding with you?

Thanks!

Let's see our little one was right around that age our first trip. He did Nemo, Carousel, Snow white, Pinoccio, Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Pooh (LOVED it), Mark Twain, Buzz, Monsters Inc. and Flicks Fun Fair Chew Chew Train (@ DCA). We would have also done Peter Pan, Mr. Toad, Storybook, Alice in Wonderland & Casey Jr. Train if we had had the time. They can go on everything that doesn't have a height restriction however they do require the baby to sit on their own if going on Roger Rabbit.

Technically you can take her on most of the rides (other then the obvious- roller coasters, tower of terror, indiana jones... the things with height requirements).

But I have seen people hold babies on Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, it just depends on what you think your baby would be comfortable with. At that age, they don't know what things are to be afraid of them (but if they are sensitive to dark or motion, then that's something to think about.

But Fantasyland and the Bug's life area in CA are both wonderful (skip the 3-d show, too many loud noises for babies/toddlers), don't forget about Winnie the Pooh back by Splash Mountain.

Have fun!

As others have said, anything without a height restriction is ok. We took our son when he was 8 months old and he went on everything in Fantasyland, Buzz, Pooh, Pirates, Haunted Mansion in DL. He did Monsters Inc & most of the Bugs Life area in CA.

I have taken a 6 mo old and a 8/9 mo old. They can go on anything without a height requirement. The only thing DS had an "issue" with is the drop on POTC, but he recovered quickly and only fussed for a moment the 1st time we rode.

Baby Bjourn (or something similar) is your friend. If they are facing forward, you don't have to even take them out of it on the rides. I have even been able to take them on Winnie the Pooh facing in, because they were sleeping. That would depend on the CM, but they usually require them to face forward on the ride.

Other options: Jungle Cruise, It's a Small World, and the Carrousel!!! Storybook Boats, Dumbo (hold baby in slings or arms), Casey Jr, and Finding Nemo. And, while it's not a ride, I'd give the Tiki Room a try. You're definitely right on the mark with the DLRR and IASW and don't forget to add the Monorail in as well.

I second the suggestion for taking a baby carrier. If your little one is anything like mine at 6 months, the Baby Bjorn is probably getting a bit snug. Not to mention it can kill your back by the end of the day. An Ergo would be ideal for your comfort since works like a true backpack (the weight rests on your hips, not your shoulders) but is soft and easy to roll up and put in a backpack. The downside to an Ergo is that the baby does need to face towards you, so a CM might get picky about this method on some rides. In which case, I'd recommend a good sturdy sling (like a Maya Wrap). If you don't already have one, you can take a look at Goore's on Marconi for some real quality slings. They can be pricey there, but you can get a feel for what they really look like in person and then look online for the best prices.

Have a blast and take lots of pictures!

I agree with the rest, use a sling.
I took my 2 month old on all the above mentioned rides using a sling and he slept through all of it. :)
We even rode Buzz and he didnt budge. Have a great time!

I have the most wonderful memories of my kids falling asleep in my arms on POTC when they were babies. :cloud9:
