I'll be at Universal (first time) with my 2 DS's, ages 12 and 20, from April 26 - May 3. They are willing to ride anything and everything. However, I just cannot take any rides with big hills or drops, but I don't want to miss out on all the fun. I LOVE Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain at Disney, but the drop at Splash Mountain was just about too much for me. I don't mind water rides (understand IOA is full of them), but don't like getting completely drenched.

Any suggestions for which rides I could probably handle?

This is my first post. I have appreciated all the helpful information I've been reading on the boards as I prepare for my trip. I apologize if this question has been posted recently.

The big roller coasters at IoA are intense (Hulk and Dueling Dragons), but they are not the types that have big drops like a big wooden roller coaster. I can't take the type that climb a big hill and then have a big drop, especially if there are no shoulder restraints. I got stressed out every time that I went on DD (on the first hill), but then couldn't wait to do it again. You might want to avoid the Dudley ride and the Jurassic Park ride since they both have big flume type drops at the end. You can get drenched on the Popeyes Barge ride (it has some big, long name), but it is such a wonderful ride. Wear clothes that can get wet and dry quickly or bring a change of clothes.

There are still lots of rides and shows to do even if you don't like the thrill rides. Spiderman and Men in Black alone are worth the price of admission.

ET, Jaws, Twister, Jimmy Neutron, Earthquake, Spider-Man, MIB, BTTF, Popeye & Blutos Bilge Rat Barges (it's a total drencher, though), Cat in the Hat, One Fish Two Fish, Caro-seuss-el, Storm Force Accelatron. All of which have no drops (Spider and BTTF have simulated ones).

Ramona, if you like water rides but hate to get drenched you're going to be in for soaking at IOA. Actually, Jurassic Park River Adventure isn't all that well -- though you will have to contend with an 85 foot drop at the end of the ride. But Dudley Do Right can soak you while Popeye will absolutely douse you. You can always buy a poncho, keep your feet up, etc. -- or maybe realize that the blast of water may not be so bad after all on a hot Florida day.
