Rides for fatties?

Hello, I did a search and couldn't find a thread on this subject. I am slightly overweight (OK, 100 pounds!), and went to Silverwood in Idaho this summer, and almost died of embarassment when I got on one of the rides and was too fat for it. Then it was really hard to get off, to boot. My first WDW trip is coming up in December, so, my question is, are there any rides at MK I should avoid? Thanks!

There have been several threads on this subject, I am suprised you couldn't find one. Try searching "pooh size" and see what you find.

On Deb's site, there is a great deal of info. It is broken down ride by ride as to what type of seats and seat belts they have and if people have trouble fitting. The web site is http://allearsnet.com/tp/ridsiz.htm

allearsnet.com just had an article about pooh sized people and rides. My DH is 6'7" and 370# and he fit on most things in WDW. RNRC, Splash Mtn, Space Mtn, TT, ToT, M:S, even Peter Pan, Snow White's Scary Adv, and quite a few others!

Believe me, you're not the only one with a little extra padding! I consider mine a safety feature, like built in airbags.

Hi-

I hate to chime in on your post but I am not getting much feedback on the Universal forum...any experiences at Universal/IAO?? It seems that the rides are much tighter over there? I am very nervous about these rides. Any experiences would be GREATLY appreciated!! Hulk? Dragons??

On the note of your post- AllEars info is fabulous! Tells all about the rides and what to expect! It is hard because of the so many different shapes of people!

Best of luck to you and thanks to anyone that responds to me:sunny:

I am 6'6" and find virtually all the rides are fine. My concern is height, but I would think some similar concerns would translate to width also. Odd rows, 1,3,5, etc on Rock n Roll, HUGE difference in room. 3rd or 6th seats on Space, a bit more room, front seat on Test Track, more room, front seat on Pirates, back seat on Splash, front row, first in (puts you on right end), Star Tours. Those are some I can think of. When you have long legs, you learn quickly, LOL. You'll enjoy.

As for USF/IoA, I would say they are great. I don't do coasters there, but they do have 'test seats, complete with safety bars, out in front of the rides so you can try them out and see how they fit. Very thoughtful I think.

Yes Universal does have test seats out in front to try but I have found that kids are usually playing on them or sitting in them. Besides it is just as embarrasing to try these seats in front of the crowd. I will tell you one thing. If you are a "well endowed" female you may have trouble with the buckle type shoulder harnesses that are used in Hulk, Dragons and Dr Doom. They do have some seats to accomodate larger people in the middle of the cars on the coasters. But I know on dragons, the front seat is the best.

i have the same problem as you (i am 5'0", 275#) and have only had two problems at any disney or universal park. that was at ioa on popeye & bluto's bilge rat barges and a universal on jimmy neutron. i couldn't fasten the seatbelt on popeye and had to move away from my group to a special seat with a belt extender. it was embarrassing and i couldn't enjoy the ride b/c of it. and on jimmy neutron, some line jumpers forced us to split our party up as we were boarding the ride. not only did i not get to ride with my mom & 2 boys, but i got stuck riding with this RUDE woman who was very bossy and annoyed that we were taking too long to try to get our party seated together. there was an empty seat between me and her daughter and then she was on the other side and she jammed the safety bar down so tight that i almost couldn't breathe. i was miserable on that ride and couldn't enjoy it either. other than that, i've always had a great time and ridden everything i wanted. go and don't worry. here's some pixie dust for you.

I beg your pardon! Fatties is such a "wrong" word. You are not a fattie....you are horizontally impaired! ;) :p

I like pooh size and fluffy. LOL
Just got back and I had no problem at size 26 at the MK.

Universal didn't have any problem either but it was tight. Shoo the kids off the test seat and check.

Have Fun!

Thanks for all the replies! What a great link to the allears.com was great! And thanks for the rest of the kind replies! You all rock! (I especially liked being called fluffy and horizontally impaired):teeth:
