Daughter-in-law just found out she's pregnant. She loves all the rides in the parks but going to be 61/2 months pregnant when our family goes to WDW. What rides will she be able to do? Any top tier rides? Thanks for info!

The attraction signs tell you if you shouldn't ride them. I just followed the signs when I was there and pregnant. :) I would imagine that somewhere on the internet somebody has compiled at least a partial list, though, if you're trying to plan ahead. Also, because I was extra tired when I was there that time, we hit pretty much every single show the parks had to offer. :)

You're going to get a lot of opinions on this. But no coasters, probably nothing with a lap bar at that point (depending on if this is her first or if she doesn't get much of a "bump.") I went when I was 3.5mo and my feet KILLED me and my legs/ankles swelled up a LOT with temps in the mid/upper 70s in late March. Be prepared for her to NEED breaks.

FoP is on the "not for pregnant women" list, but I went on it since I didn't have much of a belly at that point and I had no issues. Same with the safari. It was bumpy, but not so bumpy I would be worried.

I went at 4 months. I avoided the Safari not because of the bumpiness, but because of the lack of restroom facilities should an animal in the road make an already long ride even longer!

She can ask her doctor, but it’s probably wise to avoid anything with a pregnancy warning.

If she's cursed with Hyperemesis Gravidarum, as I was, she may get to see every ladies room in Disney. With that said, I was really early in my pregnancy and didn't know how bad it was going to be, otherwise I would have skipped.

Follow the signs and use good judgment. Definitely stay away from anything that resembles a coaster or has a drop. Basically if an infant can ride it, so can she. That being said, it is all dependent on how she feels, if she is high risk, how active/inactive she is, time of year (summer she may swell pretty bad and have trouble walking) etc. my SIL went 8 months pregnant in June (I thought she was CRAZY) but she is very active and in the military. She just stuck to a few easy rides like IaSW, shows, people mover, and ate anything and everything lol

I went when I was 7 months pregnant and I had the best time! Didn't do the jerky coaster, or the lap bars, but that trip held such great memories for me. By that time the morning sickness was gone, they extreme tiredness was gone, I was feeling good.... I hope she has a fantastic trip! Congratulations!!

The one ride that I would personally probably ignore the pregnancy warning on (don’t shame me) is the safari. I just feel Disney is ultra conservative (which is great) and I’d ask my doctor and assuming a low risk pregnancy I would avoid all coasters but sit in the front of the safari to minimize bumpiness. The safari is the quintessential animal kingdom ride and one of my true favorites. I would probably follow all other warnings though. One that seems conservative to me is the speedway but I guess that can get jerky and there is a risk of being bumped. Again, I think Disney is ultra ultra conservative which is great.

@Disneyonthe5 : Will this be your and/or your DILs first trip? If you aren't familiar with the rides AT ALL, the first place to start is the list on the disney website for pregnant women (posted by the second commenter). Edited to clarify: If you click the link and it takes you to the ride list, those of the ones pregnant women SHOULD NOT ride. It's not super clear, or wasn't to me at least.

Went when I was 7 months and in June - so very hot and very pregnant. We actually focused a lot of our time enjoying the resort, relaxing at the pool and popped into Magic Kingdom to do the things we really wanted to do. (It wasn't our first and would not be our last trip to WDW so we were okay not trying to hit every park.) At MK we did Pooh, Little Mermaid, Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Peter Pan, watched parades and fireworks.
I think it will depend a lot on how her pregnancy goes. I was high-risk with SEVERE morning sickness but followed my doctors advice: no rollercoasters, quick drops, tight fitting lap bars or restraints. We had a lovely time. When I needed a break, we took a break. When I needed to eat we ate. A baterry powered, portable fan was also a lifesaver!

When I did Disneyland at a bit over 5 months pregnant (I was also with my 11 month old and 2 year old too, so no crazy rides were in the plans on that trip anyway!) I still did Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Dumbo, Astro Orbiter and basically all of the rides where you're sitting in a ride vehicle. I didn't do any of the mountains or otherwise intense rides. I drank a lot of water but felt good and we still had fun!

Forgot about the shows! Thanks for reminding me.
