Rides closed yesterday..

Ok good! The only one I worry about missing is the mine train. The others won't have nearly the demand. So it sounds like if the weather cancels things for a bit, we can come back!

What if we don't get an email or notification?! Would that affect it even if we legitimately have missed the FP due to a closing?

Because Epcot only has 2 E-ticket rides which everyone wants to ride. If they let you go on Soarin', it would absolutely overwhelm the line.
Ahh, for the good old days when test track was world of motion and Soarin was kitchen Kaberet and people ran to get on the ramp for honey I shunk the audience which had crazy waits.

Really, it's not so much that the ride doesn't work when it rains, it's that riding in a convertible with the top down at 65 miles an hour in the rain is not a pleasant experience. Even very small raindrops can sting at that speed.

So true, I was on the Hulk roller coaster in IOA a few years ago, just going up the tunnel as it started to rain heavily. It was like someone was throwing hundreds of needles at my face....

We got caught in a sudden downpour on BTMRR once. It was dark out so we didn't even know it was coming. It's not something you want to do. Trust me. It hurts.

I posted earlier that the other day we got an email and MDE notification. Sitting here now at MK hoping the storm will pass so we can use our mine train FP. its definitely closed but we haven't received an email or MDE notice. It closed about 10 minutes before our window started. Same timeframe as our Kai FP rainout last week but no notice this time. Guess procedures have some variations.

It can take between 15 and 30 mins for you to get the email.

I have been in a few storms at Disney! Having to leave your ride when your almost there is really bad! LOL! If you are lucky its time to eat and a restaurant is near, or you are in a show , or your near shopping! LOL! But... sometimes I haven't been that lucky and waded through puddles of water with my soaking wet poncho, wet hair, & rain soaked shoes, to find any place to just get in out of the rain! :crazy2: LOL!

Off topic, but back in 2003 my cousin and I entered the queue for Dinosaur with it being bright and sunshiney outside. We waited in line for maybe 20 minutes and when we left it was as dark a night and a monsoon outside. Our plans for Primeval Whirl were quickly changed to a quick exit from the park, in which I subsequently walked barefoot as my flip flops wouldn't stay on my feet, I lost a contact lens in the downpour and then we froze on the whole bus ride back to Fort Wilderness because we were absolutely sopping wet from head to toe. My grandmother had taken us that trip and when we got into the cabins we were so cold that she actually turned on the heat!

Sorry for straying off topic, but every time I read a thread about inclement weather I always have that memory pop in my head!
