Rides Closed for Refurbishment

We are trying to decide between going in June or July. Which are or will be closed through June that we would miss if we went in June? Any rides that would be open in June but not in July? Or, any thoughts on which might be a better time to go? We are Disneyland newbies.

Pixar Pier in DCA is scheduled to open on June 23rd. So the rides and attractions that are currently being refurbed on Paradise Pier, e.g. CS, Fun Wheel, Boardwalk Games, etc. will reopen then. Your July dates should give you the newly reopened Pixar Pier, Pixar Fest in full swing in both parks (new fireworks in DL, Pixar Play Parade in DL, Paint the Night Parade in DCA), and WOC and F! nightly (as far as we know -- DLR does not announce its schedule this far in advance).

Does anyone know if there are soft openings? We will be there the week of June 11th-14th and would LOVE to see some of Pixar Pier if possible.

There likely will not be soft openings. If there are it will be the week of the opening and they are usually restricted to either CMs or APs or it will be an upcharge party like their was when guardians opened.

There are two different non-official Disney fan websites that list mid April (13th or 14th) 2018 as the date Splash will reopen
