Hi,

How are the rides restricted; by age of children or height or a mix of both.

Just trying to work out rides that my 7 Year old won't be able to ride on so we don't waste time when looking around for rides.

They are graded mainly by height.

What height is she and I'll look on the park map and see if there is anything she wouldnt be able to ride

Hi, yes graded by height, but some kids might be a bit scared of some rides.

My 4yr old ds is very tall for his age and would get on BTM, but he would hate it as he doesn't like fast rides. My eldest ds however loved things like that at a young age.

I think it just depends on the child, I wouldn't completely go on the concept that if they're tall enough they'll like it: after all there are many adults who would never dream of going on Space Mountain - my DH is one of them!:rotfl2:

If you check out the main disneyland paris website, and click on 'parks', you can drill into most of the rides which each give information on height restrictions and other information eg: crush not suitable for under 8's.

I can't measure her as she is camping at the moment. She is more than 1 metre, I'm sure of that.

She is a real daredevil but am worried that she will be going on rides and will be crying. Her dad will have to go on them with her as I'm pregnant and can't take any risks and her grandparents both have bad hearts.

It was easier when she was 4/5 years old as she only wanted to go on the baby rides. I know when she sees Big Thunder Mountain and such like that she is going to want to go on it !!!!!:scared1:

BTW what is Pirates of the Caribean ride like...is that quite gentle??

Hi, Pirates is good.

You sit on a boat, similar to It's a Small world. You are basically looking at the surroundings, but there are two small drops where the boat splashes into the water. There are no saftey belts or anything, because the ride really doesn't warrant it, so is deemed gentle I think.

On our very first trip we took our 1 year old dd on. I asked a CM before going on if it was ok for her. We sat at the front of the boat and I must be honest when the boat started climing up a bit I got a bit spooked and held on to dd for dear life :rotfl2:but it was absolutely fine.

I was also on this once when pregnant with ds, I was about 5 months I think.

If your dd is a daredevil and likes btm then I think it will only be the main coasters that aren't suitable, space mountain etc. But the heights required are at the entrances to all the rides, so quite easy to check when you're there. :thumbsup2

If she's a bit of a daredevil, she'll be absolutely fine on Pirates of the Caribbean - my DD is 7, and a bit of a wuss (like her mum ;)) but she likes POTC.

My niece is a daredevil, she did RnR rollercoaster in the Studios and absolutely loved it. She wasn't so keen on Crush, but only because its so dark (she goes on Spinball Whizzer at Alton Towers over and over again). She'd do BTM in a heartbeat too.

My 3yr old who is scared of flies and spiders went on BTM and ToT fine, so im sure your DS will be fine.

Josh (3) did BTM and loved it but Pirates was too dark for him and didn't want to go back on. This is the same kid who hides in his wardrobe in pitch blackness, go figure. He loved Star Tours but am yet to convince him to go on ToT although I am going to try again January.

I think, just off the top of my head, the only things she may not be able to go on are RnRC, Crush, Space Mountain and I can't think of anything else.

Is the Crush coaster restricted by height - I was hoping she could go on that.

yes it is restricted - I'll check later for you what the height is. Its a very fast coaster ride in the dark which spins as well - there is no way I will even try it and my DD did it when she was 7 and hated it and wont do it again

Thank you. When she comes home from camping later I will measure her height too so will have a better idea of what she can ride on.

I really fancy the POTC now I have been told what it is like. I always thought it was a mad fast roller coaster and feel diappointed that we have never tried it on our other trips.

There are good descriptions on DLP magic about each ride and if you look on youtube there are often videos of some of the rides as well

Is the Crush coaster restricted by height - I was hoping she could go on that.

Rides with height restrications are as follows:

Rock n roll rollercoaster : 1.2m

ToT : 1.02m

Indiana Jones : 1.4m

Big Thunder Mountain : 1.02m

Crush's coaster : 1.07m

Star Tours : 1.02m

Space Mountain : 1.32

We measured our two girls today and eldest to 1.15m and youngest 95.5cm.

Hope this helps.

I have a feeling Kyra is tall enough for Crush coaster.

ETD-Kyra is 2cm away riding Crush

The only one my 8 year old couldn't go on was Indiana Jones....Joshua who was 3 at the time was happy just staring and Stitch trying to shout that he loved him!!!:goodvibes But he LOVED star tours and just made it by the skin of his teeth!!...I'm telling ya, curly mad hair helped that day!!!...talking about it all makes me want to go back real bad!!lol

I have measured her and she is 1.143 metres tall at the moment in her bare feet so it looks like there are a few rides that she will be able to get on:scared1::scared1::scared1:

awwww thats a shame - my ds is very tall for his age (121cm) and his fav is rnr coaster - poss due to the fact he gets to go on twice, as dh & i do baby swap!! he was able to go on it last december at the age of 5 yrs and 1m!!!!!!!!
this is the same child that cries at tot!!!
i took ds2 (104cm) on tot - first time he was fine, 2nd he screamed.... and that was before it had started - i felt awful for him, but as soon as it stopped, so did he - so think he was just protesting in the only way he knew how!!!
am gonna wait and hope that next time ds2 is big enuf for crush as wud love to do that!!!!
ds1 is working on growing for sm2!!
