Rider switch update

How rider switch works has been changing the last few years. It used to be they handed out colored cards that they reused. With the roll out of Max Pass they began scanning tickets and giving guests a specific return time. This made rider switch even less desirable as you would have to ride the ride immediately after the first party returned. Not always favorable. We are fortunate our youngest has passed 42", so we only had to rider switch Indy. I was about to hand our tickets over yesterday when the CM gave me a small card with a scannable bar code with the date. It was good anytime that day. We will be back at DCA on Friday and will switch on Incredicoaster. I will update with the procedure there. I am hopeful for those who need rider switch that this is a park wide change. It was much faster and a lot more flexible.

This does seem like a great improvement. I hope people don’t abuse it so they’re able to keep this system in place.

Thank you for the update! It was pretty useless as it was! I wonder if this applies to Smugglers Run as well. Trying to come up with a game plan to entertain a 1 year old with nothing for him to do in GE while the first half of our group waits and rides.

My friend who did RS yesterday on MFSR and Soarin’ said her pass was scanned for both. So maybe they’re testing this at IJ?

Although disappointing. I wouldn't be surprised at that. The fp return line is very long there. Our last trip without asking I was just given a yellow return anytime when I asked about rider switch at IJ

I wonder if it's also because IJ breaks down so frequently. I think I remember that the rider switch FPs also turned into any ride FPs when it broke down?

I hope they make this change parks wide. It’s useless for us as it stands.

I don't like the idea of them having separate procedures for different rides. It creates confusion with less frequent guests.

Hopefully what happened at WDW doesn’t happen here where people sell these on eBay. I guess it wouldn’t work since it’s only day of, which is good.

Just did rider switch on the Incredicoaster on Wednesday. They scanned my phone and we had a return time with a window of an hour. However, it was almost immediate, which helps. I much prefer the old system, but i’m very glad we didn’t have to wait to return. Having a return time not be either immediately after the first riders ride or at our leisure just makes no sense.

Yep. SR tonight scanned passes. We had LESS than an hour to return...Which is saying something about SWEG!! On a Friday night! Lol
