I'm sure this has been answered in previous threads, but I can't seem to find it...

My ds7 is over 48" tall, but he's a scaredy cat and won't ride roller coasters or other intense rides (FJ will likely be too scary for him). Are we able to utilize rider swap so that my dh and I can each ride FJ with my ds8? Or is that not an option since ds7 is tall enough to ride?

Ds8 and I are the big Potter fans. DH and ds7 not so much.

If rider swap is not an option for us, I was thinking that we'd all 4 go thru the FJ stand-by line and then dh and ds7 would take the "chicken exit" once we got to the ride. Afterwards, dh and ds8 could ride using the single riders line just so dh can experience the ride and ds8 can get a 2nd ride. Would that work?

Either option would work in your case. Just tell the FJ TMs that you're doing child swap and they'll instruct you on what to do/where to go.

That's good to hear. I know Disney will not allow you to use rider swap if the child not riding is tall enough to ride, so I was wondering if Universal had the same policy. Thanks.

The nice thing about Universal's swap is that it's totally *inside* the ride. You're all together until the non-riders go off to a different area; no one is left outside. I think that this allows them to be more generous than WDW; but even WDW *can* make exceptions in some cases (it's not as cut and dried, IMO, as some would make it out to be).

While some folks have posted a different experience Disney DOES allow a rider swap for those tall enough, but not "brave" enough to ride.
