Rider Swap Questions

I'm sure these have been asked before, I just couldn't find the answers to what I'm looking for. We've never used rider swap, but I'm looking into it for our next trip. My youngest DD will be 5 and isn't a thrill seeker.

So my first question is - can we use rider swap if she's tall enough to ride, but is too scared to ride? She will be 40" by our trip so she will be able to ride more things than she'll actually want to ride. I'm not sure if it can only be used if they don't meet the height requirement.

Second question - how exactly does rider swap work with my other kids? We would get rider swap, DH and my other 2 DDs would ride. Then I can ride, but can my DDs ride again with me?

The rider swap is good for 3 people, so your other kids can ride twice.

Generally they will only give it to you if you have a child that is too short to ride. Every time we've asked for one, they have measured DS to make sure he wasn't tall enough before they would give us one. Once, when he was asleep in the stroller and I wasn't willing to disturb him, they finally did give us one very grudgingly. But I know many others have reported no luck even in that case.

Looking through the height requirements, we should actually be ok. She will most likely want to ride the 40" rides (Splash, BTMR), but not the 44" and up rides. So as long as she doesn't have a growth spurt between now and Nov, rider swap will work.

My son has Aspergers and we've used rider swap with him (we don't ask for other accommodations for him). I just told the CM's the situation and they gave it to us. This was on our trip last year and he was 11 and almost as tall as I am. I was prepared for a battle since I'd been told that they would restrict use based on height, even though height is not mentioned anywhere in the online "rules" for rider swap. But it was never an issue. Your experience may vary though.
