I am about to go on my first real Disney trip for a week with the wife and 2 kids. I've gone once before when the older child was 2 and we only went to MK and AK then. Now the kids are older and both of them love rides. I expect both of them to go on every ride they are allowed on. My younger one is too short for Aerosmith i know as an example. My wife is not a fan of coasters, drops, anything that might cause motion sickness etc. I am not familiar with most of the rides at Disney world because i only went on the easiest rides that a 2 year old could do last time. So if there are rides that are meant to be rode in pairs, can i rider swap the kids? Meaning i go with older kid while my wife stays with the younger one, then i go again with the younger kid and this time my older kid waits with my wife. Everything i read about with rider swap is when the parents are doing the swapping, but that doesn't apply to our family.

That isnthow rider swap works. When you approach the ride you present the person who isnt riding. Typically it is a kid. But it can be anyone who cant be left alone.
Your wide can be left alone.

No. Rider swap is used when a child is too small to ride, so someone can wait with them (and the child doesn’t have to wait through two full lines).

Your wife can wait alone or go through the lines with you and take the « chicken exit »

Well this is where things might get weird because kids under 7 need to ride with someone 14 or older and it's all about how the the ride vehicle is constructed. I think Barnstormer is one where parents end up with crazy RS scenarios.

I don’t believe they will issue a Rider Swap in that situation. WDW allows age 7+ to ride without an adult. The 10-yr-old can ride “alone” (without you next to them) and you sit behind with the 6-yr-old. Or they may allow the 2 kids to sit together and allow you to sit the row behind. I think there are only a few rides that are a hard 2-by-2 seating, and if the younger one is too short for RnR, so you may not find it to be an issue.
