Rider Swap, FOP & Early Entry

I’m sure I’m overthinking this, but I’ve never done FOP without a fast pass. I’m wondering, if we rope drop FOP during the early entry time, does the entire party stand in line until we get near the entrance to request rider swap or do we have to find someone to request rider swap and then get in line? And is there a good place to leave a stroller or can we have it with us until we get rider swap set up? Thank you for any insights!
