Rider swap at FEA?

So...Disney's website says rider swap is available at FEA. Anyone tried to use it there?

I was in Epcot in September and my family did get a rider switch for FEA because my 2 year old was sleeping in his stroller/someone had to stay with him.

As much as some want it to be, rider switch is not limited to people "too short" to ride.

This is a case of the website being wrong. In most cases the CM require seeing the too small child before giving out a Rider Swap. I've watched many times where they made a guest bring the child to them to give out the pass and seen them refuse to provide it when the child wasn't too small.

I have said this before, if you are firm and resolute you will get your rider swap. I have had to explain firmly but politely the policy, as it only makes sense to give a swap for someone who can't or won't ride for whatever reason. Every time I get the swap. I have a 6 year old who simply won't ride several things. He is more than tall enough so I state the written policy, show the screenshot, and tell them to give me the swap pass. In 9 trips at various stages of him being tall enough including the las 16 days I have not been refused. Polite, firm, and resolute. The policy as written on the website will be followed as long as you don't accept no and make that clear in a polite manner.

If they are, in fact, giving out rider swap passes for FEA (as some in this thread have reported they are), the website is correct. There is no height requirement for FEA, and therefore, no "too short" kids.

I'd initially asked because my husband and I are both curious about the ride, and we may need to kill time while LO naps in the stroller (he won't know or care what he's missing). Just wanted to check out all of my potential options.

If there is no height requirement of course they can't give them only for kids that are too short.
I believe FEA fits in a black hole of rides. As far as I can determine, it would be the only ride that they give out swap passes for and doesn't have a height requirement.

I'm glad it works if you point out their error. But it does take someone to "argue", even if politely done. They will as a routine policy, not provide them.

I know many have had kids measured for rider swap, but I have never been asked to measure my kid prior to a rider swap. She is tall enough for many rides she does not want to go on. However, she is just 4, so probably looks young to CMs. They have never asked her to get out of the stroller. I think if someone is sleeping, it won't be a problem.

I do not know why people get so upset on here about rider swap and height measuring, insisting on how particular CM's are. I have taken 5 kids to WDW over the last 13 years and have never once been asked to present the child in order to obtain a rider swap. The CM's have always just been nice to us, no problems at all. The same has gone for measuring children. In 13 years with various kids, they have never been asked to take shoes off, etc as many say. CM's have always just been nice and kind. Kind when they have been a bit too short; encouraging and having them stand as tall as they could. Just nice. I know many have said they have different experiences, but just wanted to encourage those that it is not always the case and has never been for us.

We have used rider swap numerous times over the years (all too short) and will so again this upcoming trip.
Our experience has been hit or miss on if they want to see the child. Sometimes they asked to see the child and others they didn't.
7dmt they asked to see the child every time, that was in '15.

As for FEA, my thought might be because you MUST transfer from a wheelchair (according to the site) unlike say Pirates or other riders where they have wheelchair "cars"

i just want to clarify that Pirates does NOT have a wheelchair boat. If a guest using a wheelchair wants to ride Pirates, they must transfer and the wheelchair will be brought from the load area to the unload area.

The transfer at FEA is fairly similar to Pirates, although the boat at FEA has higher sides.

When we went on FEA in November, we were not sure whether or not we would be able to transfer our DD onto the boat. We asked the CM at the entrance and she said to bring her in and talk to the CM at the load area. After watching boarding, we decided we would not be able to put her on. The CM sent me down the area to u load to wait with DD while DH rode.

We did it on December 14th and it was easy- me, DH, DS 11 and DS 9 months went to the line and I rode alone with my fastpass then gave the swap ticket to DH & DS 11 while I took the baby. Just my 2 cents but I thought the directional changes were really jerky and rough and I was glad I didn't take the baby on.

We did bring the whole group to get the rider swap but since the baby was obviously little I can't speak to the height requirements. A couple times on our trip we did hear people who came to the line alone get turned back to get their entire party if they wanted a rider swap pass though.
