I looked in the Genie usage thread and didn't see an answer. I also asked this question in there and it got buried before it could be answered.

We have 4 people. 3 can ride everything, but my younger son won't be able to do RnRC (under 48).

With Genie and rider swap, do me, my wife and my taller son need a LL reservation for all of use to use the LL lines?

If so, doesn't that leave my younger son SOL? We can't book a LL for him alone, while the other 3 are doing RnRC.

Ideally, shouldn't it be:

LL reservation on RnRC for one parent and taller child.
LL reservation on something else for one parents / smaller child
Rider swap on RnRC for non-riding parent and taller chid

That way each parent gets to ride RnRC with the taller child and each parent can do something with the smaller child.

It doesn't sound like that is the case though.

We had to do rider swap and we booked a LL for all riders who needed it. Then when we arrived told them we needed rider swap and who for and they gave them a pass. First riders go, then second riders. At least that’s how it worked for us

Thanks

So what did the other kid do while everyone was knocking out the rider swap ride?

In my experience the younger kid just has to wait and the older kid gets to ride twice. This was the case for us on FOP last trip- BUT we were able to take the younger 5 times on Navi river while waiting for the other group. We RD FOP so Navi was wide open- he was 3 and enjoyed getting right back on. When we did RnRC and ToT the waiting child did lightening McQueen once and we just sat and got a snack the other time. I see what you’re saying but I wouldn’t expect a separate pass for another attraction- unless someone knows something I don’t…

Everyone wanting to ride using RS has to have access to the same line as the first party riding. SB no problem, G+ everyone riding needs a G+ (except the non rider of course) ILL, all riders! Second party uses the LL even when standby was used for the first party.

The RS is designed so that the 2nd parent doesn't have to wait a double wait; not for each parent to ride with a tall enough child or so that an older child gets a 2nd ride, Best options for us and younger child were, ice cream treat, playground time or a nearby attraction with a shorter wait, sometimes even a nap!

You can also split some of your ILL or G+ choices so that one parent rides with each child and alternate, skipping RS and enjoying the 10-1 time with each child.
